The Villa, located around 30km from the Eternal City on the Monti Tiburtini, could be reached via the ancient Roman roads Tiburtina and Prenestina. The Hadrian’s Villa has been erected by the request of the Emperor Hadrian. It is a monumental living complex that even today continues to display the lavishness and enormous power of Ancient Rome. The Emperor Hadrian has chosen this area for its abundant waters and availability of four aqueducts that passed through to Rome. This lovely estate is filled with striking palaces, temples, libraries, fountains and of course gardens.

We did the Tivoli tour visiting Hadrians villa and Villa d este tour with Paulo and it was one of the most memorable days we had in Italy. Paulo was very informative and wonderful to talk to about history as well as present day Italian life and culture. Lunch at Sibill restaurant which was a 300 yr old restaurant with 2 ancient temple ruin was spectacular as well. Finally visiting the villa d este gardens was amazing to see the water powered organ and other beautiful fountains. Paulo was very patient and gave us extra time where needed as well and helped us get tickets and audio guides with great ease! Highly recommend this tour company and will use them again in our next trip to Italy.

This was an amazing tour. Claudio was our driver and was amazing. He contacted us the day before we left so we had his contact info. He brought us pastries for breakfast and had refreshments for us all day. The restaurant he selected in Tivoli was amazing very beautiful and great food. Even though their are times in the tour description we never felt rushed we where able to take our time and enjoy the sites at our own pace.

I was a little hesitant to book this tour because of the price. But it was an amazing experience our driver and guide Claudio was great he text us the day before so we would have his number brought us A pastry when he picked us up, had water and sodas for us all day long on the trip helped us with entry into all of the attractions picked an amazing restaurant for our lunch very beautiful and very romantic. Gave us plenty of time and all the attractions never felt rushed or herded just an amazing experience.

It is a beautiful village, the ruins were amazing. Paolo, our guide was great. He provided a lot of information and took us to a great restaurant with a beautiful view. We even booked a night tour of Tome with him because we do enjoyed our day.

Paulo was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable and helpful and with excellent English. Everything was very easy for us. He took us to a lovely place for lunch. Definitely wear comfy shoes as there is a lot of walking. Hadrians Villa is vast. Maybe check the times of the organ fountain before you go so you can be in the garden of Villa d’Este at the right time -we missed it. All in all, a fantastic day out and worth the money to be on a private trip rather than in a group.

Our trip to Tivoli with Salvatore on Sep 20 was a high spot for my family! Salvatore was so knowledgeable about the town and kept us informed with history along the way. Tivoli is lovely, worth another visit and a stay, we all thought. They reserved a fabulous lunch spot for us at Sibilla's, overlooking the gorge. They also arranged an excellent local guide, Maria Therese, for our tour of Villa Adriana. She was so informative, and provided facts with lots of context. She helped the history come alive for us. We had visited Pompeii the day before, and we honestly found Villa d'Adrianna to be as interesting. Much less crowded too. Villa d'Este was almost overwhelming in the richness of the art and sculpture. A fantastic day trip with a fantastic driver! We have used Best Rome Drivers in past trips and they are always first rate. We have confidence in them, and their drivers make everything as easy and smooth as you could hope for. Highly recommend them for this and all of their other day trips (we have done most of them). Highly recommend Salvatore! He took good care of us!
