Generally, your archaeologist will follow a "classic" itinerary with you in order to maximize the number of monuments you can visit in two hours. Although Herculaneum is much smaller than Pompeii, it is better preserved. In fact, Herculaneum, unlike Pompeii, was completely buried under 20 meters of mud that preserved incredibly well the most part of the buildings, furnishings, wooden objects, mosaic floors, etc.
