What to expect
Piazza Garibaldi
The heart of the city can be considered the central Piazza Garibaldi, with the sixteenth-century fountain dominated by the winged lion of St. Mark. From here you can easily reach the main monuments of Asolo.
Rocca di Asolo
The Rocca di Asolo or Rocca Braida is a fortress, located on the top of Mount Ricco, which overlooks the homonymous village. The massive construction has a polygonal plan of nine unequal sides. In the walls, about 4 m thick at the base and up to 15 m high, there are no openings or windows: only one door, already connected to the lower castle, gave access to the upper part of the defensive system of the city.
Villa Barbaro - World Heritage Site
Villa Barbaro in Maser (Treviso) is a Venetian villa, built by Andrea Palladio between 1554 and 1558-1560 for the humanist Daniele Barbaro and for his brother Marcantonio Barbaro, ambassador of the Republic of Venice, transforming the old medieval palace owned by him of the family in a splendid country house suited to the study of the arts and intellectual contemplation, decorated with a cycle of frescoes that represents one of Paolo Veronese's masterpieces.
