Michele gave us a fantastically interesting talk around the mine and most especially the museum. His family have a close connection with the whole project, trying to ensure that there is an interesting place for people to visit. He was incredibly informative and helpful.
This is truly an interesting site to visit and Michele’s connection with it gives visitors a really good insight into their work in trying to preserve this site. I would urge visitors to support the wonderful work they are and have already done, so that this piece of history is not lost.

Esperienza interessante grazie anche alla competenza della guida locale Michele Pinna. Abbiamo visitato sia la galleria di Villamarina, interna alla miniera, sia il complesso adiacente che includeva le principali strutture produttive, gli alloggi della direzione e quelli degli operai. Un itinerario coinvolgente alla scoperta della Miniera di Monteponi e della vita intorno ad essa !! Da consigliare a tutti !!

Esperienza interessante e coinvolgente, grazie anche alla competenza storica e tecnica delle preparatissime guide locali. Si può visitare sia la galleria di Villamarina, interna alla miniera, sia l’adiacente complesso che includeva le principali strutture produttive, gli alloggi della direzione e quelli degli operai. Il villaggio è in stato di abbandono quasi totale e forse anche per questo risulta molto suggestivo, benché desolato. Il tour completo dura due ore abbondanti, ma il tempo vola seguendo le vicende dei luoghi e delle persone, raccontate con passione dalle eccellenti guide. Merita assolutamente, si conosce una pagina di storia locale che aiuta anche a capire meglio certe contraddizioni di questo angolo di Sardegna bellissimo ma, a tratti, decadente.

Abbiamo effettuato la visita con MIchele a metà settembre: "cicerone" documentatissimo, ambienti molto interessanti, una vera scoperta, al di fuori dei soliti percorsi minerari, peraltro anch'essi molto interessanti. Contiamo di tornare in futuro per un percorso più approfondito.
