The tour was amazing and thank you the tour Guide Leonardo, very experienced. We had exceptional tour! It is impossible to completely explore the museum without a helpful tour guide who knows everything about it. We were fortunate to have someone like Leonardo who was so knowledgeable.

Doing this tour will get you into the Vatican museum, the Sistine chapel and entry into the basilica without waiting in an hours long line. It’s very crowded and I feel like I was rushed through.

The tour guide was really kind and understanding. It was hard for us to find the place of the meeting and we almost missed the whole visit, but he called us and helped us. We really appreciated that.

A day before the tour we received a message saying our tour was delayed by 2 hours. When we arrived at the office Viator Tour had indicated, we were walked over to another tour company office, where we waited on the street for 45 minutes (in the hot Roman sun) for the tour to begin. I saw on a brochure in the second office that this tour was considerably CHEAPER than the one we paid for. We were offered no explanations or a refund. The Viator tour that we had booked said “2 hours and 45 minutes” and “comprehensive tour of Vatican City and St. Peter’s”. The actual tour we were on lasted under an hour. The guide almost jogged through the museum. Her favourite line was, “I’ll give you a FEW SECONDS TO LOOK AROUND”. And, she meant seconds. After exactly one hour, she left us halfway through the museum and said we can go to the Sistine Chapel somewhere down that hallway. There was no tour of the St. Peter’s at all. We think our more expensive Viator tour was sold to another company, and we were left with an amazingly bad afternoon.

Very interesting, a lot to see. You need a lot of time, as the museum is huge and filled with history. You can also rent smart audioguides in different languages, with manual controls.

The tour checked in at one place which was hard to find, then moved to another place, then another. There was a big deal made out of our grandsons being students. They are both students, but was never told that student ID was required until then. We were charged more, but when I signed up online I signed them up according to age as nothing was said about being students. The tour ended up starting over 40 minutes late, but not just because of this. The experience wasn’t great because of the many people and the heat, which wasn’t anyone’s fault. This tour just wasn’t well organized. Our other Viator tours were very good.

You do NOT see St. Peter’s Basilica on this tour, the title is a lie! We paid for both Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica but we only saw the museum and our tour guide led us outside and concluded the tour before seeing the basilica. They also changed the time of our tour last minute, it got pushed from 10:30 am to 3 pm and it started late. They told us we were not supposed to be in the tour and did not even ask for confirmation, however eventually “let” us come along. The tour of the Vatican Museum was good but claiming in the TITLE OF THE TOUR to go to St. Peter’s Basilica and have us pay for it and then not go there is lying, false advertising, and unethical.

First of all, they pushed our start time almost 5 hours and only notified us the night before (9:30PM!!). Then, when we arrived they had told our tour operator that he was only taking 4 of us, there were 6 people there so he almost just made us leave. Also, we didn’t even go into the Basillica. Terrible, don’t do this tour. Just look up info and go in yourself. Only plus was the artistic knowledge our tour guide shared.

We lucked out with having Francesco as our tour guide! He was so knowledgeable and passionate about each thing he taught us on the tour. It was very smooth and intriguing. Francesco taught us a lot of details about the art work and history. We would recommend him and this company! We also had to change dates due to a holiday, and they were nothing but helpful.

The tour meeting place was very convenient to our destination. Our guide was personable and explained the rules and regulations of the Vatican area. Our only issue was how fast he spoke and his enunciation had to be clearer. We had head sets but he seemed rushed at some times so he spoke much quicker. You may want to find guides who speak English more fluently for the the English guided groups.
