Museum and Crypt of Capuchins Friars
Visit the creepy rooms of the Crypt of Capuchins completely adorned by human bones. The remains of 4000 friars were buried here from 1500 and 1870, some of the skeletons you can see are intact. The bones are put in a very decorative way making this crypt a real piece of art.
Basilica of San Clemente
Discover the history of this church transformed many times over the centuries. Starting from the medioeval church built in the 12th century, you will cross the four levels discovering the old church, the ancient roman houses and buildings, and the ruins of a Mithraic Temple dating to 1st century.

Admire the richly decorated current Basilica built around 1100 A.D. with its apse mosaic, the carved wooden ceiling, frescoes, and marble statues. Admire tha large collection of early medioeval wall paintings. See the ruins of an old pagan temple devoted to the cult of Mithra, an ancient storehouse, and a private house of a roman aristocrat probably used as site of clandestin christian worship.
