The boat went only a couple of metres off shore, no chance to catch anything big!! This seemed like a tour not an ultimate experience

I regret to share my disappointing experience with the Blue Ocean Fishing Company. It became evident early on that the company lacks professionalism and is far from customer-oriented. The staff was notably discourteous and lacked manners. Their enthusiasm only seemed to surface when it came time to collect fees, a clear indication of misplaced priorities. Genuine hospitality is about making customers feel welcome and appreciated, but this was far from what I experienced. The equipment provided was also below par. Each customer was given only one fishing sinker to use, and if it got lost, we were expected to make do with small lead weights. I would like to ask, how is a tiny weight supposed to sink to the ocean floor? It's a question of basic fishing logic that the company seems to disregard. Moreover, the captain seemed to have little knowledge of the fishing locations. We were asked to start fishing before we even reached the designated fishing spot. Are we supposed to fish for seaweed instead of actual fish? In conclusion, I would strongly advise against using the services of Blue Ocean Fishing Company. The poor service, lack of professionalism, and inadequate fishing equipment severely impacted the quality of my fishing experience. I hope my review will save others from a similarly frustrating experience.

Two star for the nice lady selling the tickets at the corner hut in front of the boat. The fishing was horrible. The fishing poles were outdated, the fishing lines needed to be changed out and there was even some rust showing on the hooks. I understand it's reef fishing so the small fishing poles were fine. But there were barely any bites at all. The whole boat caught 4 fish in total. Meaning only 2 or 3 guys caught fish while the other 24 or so did not even get a bite for a 3 hours trip. If your in it for a good boat ride, this is a very economical choice. If your wanting to catch fish, I would say try elsewhere. Another thing is the signs advertise you can keep and cook your catch. The mate on the other hand say all fish are to be released. Go figure.

The crew was great. But the trip was kind of a bust. False advertising at most. Would not recommend this trip to anyone. This was a special birthday gift for my husband and he was disappointed so if he's disappointed so AM I... I would love to get a full refund. The captain called me last night and had no idea what he was calling me about. Again whattt...

We went on a fishing trip this past Mother’s Day with the Blue Ocean crew and had an amazing time! Aloha again guys! Not sure what all the negative reviews are about or if staff had changed but we found our captain and crew to be professional and friendly. We set off early in the morning and some members of the other party got seasick, luckily my husband brought some medication and bracelets to help. I’d recommend bringing some if anybody in your group may get sick on the boat. After traveling for some time we got a glimpse of our fishing ground and set out our lines. The views over Waikiki were amazing. We brought a bunch of snacks and drinks to enjoy as we waited for bites. We ended up hooking a couple of fish though I was looking forward to catching more, I guess nobody can really control that though. This tour was really more about the time we got to enjoy with everyone else in our group and I’d definitely book with them on our next trip!

Worst fishing experience ever - should be able to give a zero. Left late, back early and were out closer to the shore than the water activities. There was no fish to catch and was told by the captain we did catch a bigger fish two weeks ago! The trip was so bad that people were actually just sitting around waiting to go back. To finish things off we were told it's about the experience and had a massive tip jar shaken in each person's face. There was no experience! To make matters worse I realised after that the hotel activities counter had added $25 per person to our price - yes, we paid $130US each! The bait was terrible, not that it probably mattered as there was no fish to eat it. Rods ready to break and no chance of losing a hook as you were told not to get it stuck on the bottom and the way you were told to fish ensured there was no way you would even get close to the bottom of the water with your hook to bottom fish! Might I also add this is no 'luxury' fishing tour, felt like I needed my lifejacket in reach just in case, but then we were so close I could have easily swam back. Had 20 people on the boat, couldn't imagine how they would fit 49 on the boat, if they did you would have to take turns. Don't do this trip.

Fishing experience was good, although didn't catch anything! Return transport didn't show, so had a 2 mile walk back to hotel.
