I bought the package before even seeing the hotel. We chose it because of the price, and after reading the reviews, I was terrified of what I was getting into. Honestly, I thought it was closer to a nightmare than a relaxing getaway... I WAS WRONG!! From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent. The room is small, yes, but suitable for a couple. There are clothes rails, and you can store your suitcases next to a small table or under the bed. The bathroom is small but adequate (perhaps the soap dispenser could be improved). The carpeted floor was fine, and the wooden floorboards creaked a bit sometimes (but hey, every old building creaks occasionally). Plus, there's coffee and tea in the room. Breakfast was served from 6:30 to 10:00 am, English style, simple but adequate (the croissant was delicious), and coffee was available all day. The elevator WAS WORKING (I read somewhere that it wasn't, but it was), and the restaurant downstairs (which was my biggest fear, the noise) was barely noticeable, and we stayed there for almost a week (we happened to be there on a weekend). The room was cleaned every day, and the heating always worked. Now, for the location, it's worth it!!! It's a 10-minute walk from the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, and the Victoria & Albert Museum; about 8 minutes from Earl's Court and Gloucester Road Station; bus 74 (from the city center) stops right outside; and the Sainsbury's supermarket (which is two blocks away) passes by on the way to the city center. Next door is a laundromat that closes at 11 pm, and there's a mini-market a few blocks away from both subway lines... for us, it was perfect! It was actually a lovely stay and we'll definitely go back there on our next trip to London!

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, and the London-style decor was charming. Unfortunately, our room was small for a whole family; it lacked space, as did the bathroom. A major drawback was the noise from the shisha bar outside our courtyard-facing window. There was noise every night until all hours, making it difficult to get a peaceful night's sleep.
