Luckily, one of your staff members at the night reception found us a space heater. The room was terribly cold (room 408), even though we had already requested a change because we were given an even colder room (416). The water was barely lukewarm for a shower—difficult to warm up when it's snowing and cold in Paris.

What a shame! The title sums up our experience perfectly. This Adagio is a beautiful building and well located. From the moment we entered, with its festive decorations, we stepped into a new world. After checking in, we were able to go to our apartment. It was well laid out and clean, but then came the cold shower because we couldn't feel the heating at all. The outside temperatures were below freezing, which didn't help matters. We tried to ignore the cold, but the room was far too chilly. After going to reception, the person told me they couldn't do anything because there were no technicians on site in the evening and that we weren't the first guests to complain. I asked for two extra duvets, which were eventually provided. The cold prevented us from enjoying the place, and if we hadn't had any plans, we would have been ready to go home after just one night. The next day, no technician arrived, and we had to spend a second very chilly night. The establishment's policy promotes energy efficiency by adhering to the recommended temperature of 19°C, which is commendable, but at the expense of guest comfort, especially since the perceived temperature is not 19°C. Regarding the staff we encountered, we have no complaints; they were professional and helpful. In conclusion: if it's not too cold or too hot, go for it; otherwise... it's up to you!

This is an aparthotel in dire need of refurbishment. It is very dated and drab. It is a wonder how it holds a 4-star rating. I booked a four night stay here with my toddler months in advance and was assured in writing that a cot would be provided. The booking was non-refundable. On arrival I was given a room without a cot and two single beds on caster wheels that were pushed together but kept coming apart because the wheels didn’t work. The room had yellowing wallpaper, dated electricity wiring, a tiny TV, a tiny toilet, a separate tiny bathroom and torn bed linen. Sockets and light switches were all within reach of my toddler (some were exposed). But more importantly, there was no heating in the room. In the dead of winter. There was also no heating in the bathroom and towel rail was disabled. There was no heating in the hallways. I spoke to the receptionist who explained in broken English that there was no heating in the hotel and they had run out of portable heaters (she checked in storage). She offered a different room directly above the one we were in which had a portable heater. The room was exactly the same as the one below it. And it was in this room that I spent several days hiding from the Parisian cold blasting the portable heater to keep warm. Extra duvets or blankets were not provided on request because they were, and I quote “not necessary”. It took up to 10 mins for water in the tap to warm up so we could wash hands or dishes. In the evenings, water did not stay warm for longer than a few minutes so taking a shower was out of the question. When I asked why rubbish was not removed from the room daily or at all and there was no cleaning I was told by an obnoxious receptionist that I had to get rid of rubbish myself in another part of the hotel and to pay extra to have the room cleaned. The list of issues goes on but you get the picture. This was not a 4-star experience I was hoping to have with my child. It was distressing and spoiled our stay. Had the booking been refundable I would not have thought twice about moving to a different accommodation soon after arrival. This property is not suitable winter accommodation especially if you are travelling with young children. Oh I forgot to mention - they give you a broom to clean your own room. I kid you not. I’ve travelled to Paris on many previous, happy occasions. However, this is the first time I have come across something like this. Avoid, if at all possible.
