I stayed at the Adrian Hotel ( the name attracted me) in Forbes and overall it was a decent budget option, especially for the location. The bed was comfortable and the hotel offers easy access to the CBD, which was very convenient. That said, there were a few downsides. The air-conditioning was an old window unit and incredibly noisy, and combined with the general outside noise and the nearby rail line, it made the nights a bit rough ,I’d recommend bringing earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. The room itself was quite dark, and there weren’t any chairs to sit upright in, which made it less comfortable for relaxing or working. On the plus side, it did come with a microwave, fridge, and biscuits, which was handy. Overall, it’s fine for a short stay if you’re on a budget, but expect a few noise and comfort issues.

Stayed 2nd November 2025 and 22nd November 2025. We stopped here overnight on our way to Melbourne. The motel is very well located for this because we didn't have to move off our route to get to it. Slight PITA to leave in the morning as there's no right turn out of the driveway, but you can pull a U-turn a little up the street. The owner was lovely and very accommodating. We were booked in to an upstairs room but due to my partner's mobility issues and us having a toddler this wasn't appropriate. When I mentioned this to the owner he changed our room straight away. The room itself was a good size, clean, and looked to have recently been refreshed. The shower was huge with a big rain head and good pressure... I didn't want to get out A few other guests have mentioned the trains and the traffic. Yes you do hear them but not as badly as I was expecting to. And for the little ones or the trainspotters you get a good view our the door of the trains when they do pass. Unfortunately the Indian restaurant onsite is temporarily closed for renovations so didn't get to try the meals, but for a weary traveller Macca's being right next door was very convenient. We were so happy with the stay on the way down that we made a point of stopping here for the night on the way home too. We will continue to make this motel an overnight stop for our Melbourne trips.
