Sergio, Marsela, and Alessio gave us a wonderful welcome, and communication was easy. They are very friendly hosts who made things easy for us. Firstly, they stored our luggage until later in the day so we could enjoy our stay. And secondly, when we could only stay two nights instead of three, they were very accommodating. The room was lovely, clean, and spacious—we couldn't have asked for anything more—and the breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice! Thank you for this wonderful time in Venice! A quiet place in a super location with polite people.

I don’t usually write reviews for good hotels, but I always make a point of writing one when the experience is unsatisfactory, so other travelers know what to expect. The room looks significantly better in the photos than it does in reality. Soundproofing is extremely poor, you can hear everything, which makes it hard to rest. The building is very cramped, with barely any room to move around; it feels like the owners are trying to squeeze every possible cent out of each room. On top of that, the entire staff spoke very limited English, which made communication difficult. Breakfast deserves a separate mention. It is served in a tiny kitchen with only three tables placed right next to each other, so the experience feels crowded and uncomfortable. The food quality is very low – the cheapest products (eg private-label yoghurts from the budget supermarket or a drink presented as juice, but in reality resembling to colored sugar water) displayed in minimal quantities. It also seemed that leftovers from the previous day were put out again the next morning. Nothing looked particularly clean, and we would never have touched some of the foodstuffs, for instance the “fruit salad,” which was already watery and unappealing. The croissants were clearly not fresh, so they were reheated in a microwave (1 pp). Portions were strictly controlled – for example, I couldn’t take a whole tomato: the woman in the kitchen cut it in half, gave me one half one day, and tried to give me the other (not fresh anymore) the next day. As a guest, I would prefer to handle my own food so I can be confident about hygiene, as I want to avoid any risk of food poisoning while traveling. Overall, because of the tight space and the way the food was handled, breakfast felt unhygienic. Also, there were no eggs at all, and the choice of cold cuts was extremely limited. Furthermore, we specifically asked at check-in if we could get something to take with us for an early excursion, thus having to leave before 8am (start of the “breakfast”). The guy who checked us in promised this, but the next morning we were rather rudely dismissed by an old man – the owner I suppose – and couldn’t even get a coffee. The overall approach of the people who run this place appears to prioritize cost reduction, extracting maximum return from minimal spending. I’ve also noticed that management responds quite harshly to the critical reviews left here and on other platforms (eg Booking.com), which creates an unpleasant impression. Unfortunately, I didn’t pay attention to this earlier and only counted on visitors’ reviews which are mostly positive. The only real advantage of this place is the location. We chose it due to the proximity to certain spots. Otherwise, you can easily find nicer options for a similar price. I’ve been to Venice before, and I speak from experience. UPD: As we can see in the response below, the hosts continue to be rude to their guests, albeit in a more subtle manner. This comes across as unprofessional and unable to adhere to basic standards of the hospitality industry.
