Overall the hotel was okay. Staff were very friendly and courteous. It's maintained pretty well. Maybe a little worn here and there. The building used to be a bank so that's really cool. Genuinely the only drawback is that the beds don't have fitted sheets, only a top sheet. It's just how they do things here. For that reason, I don't think I'll be back or staying at any other aloft hotels.

Room was small but had everything we needed, especially since we were barely in it. Elevators are small and somewhat slow. The location right by city hall and the reading terminal market was ideal. Tip: Self park in the garage at Trader Joe’s and save yourself $30 compared to valet. The hotel doesn’t have cash on site and weren’t able to break $20 bills so I could tip the staff. The front desk sent me to the bar to get change and the bartender said it’s a cash free bar - curious if he accepts cash tips. Anyway, the most frustrating was that we booked third party then got charged again by Aloft for the room plus valet when we should’ve only been charged for the valet. When I called for a refund, Aloft charged me a second time as opposed to refunding me. At this point, I’d been charged three times now (once by third party and twice by Aloft) for one night in the hotel. I reached out to their corporate office and it took over a week to get everything corrected.

The staff was friendly. The rooms were marginal at best. The room did not hold heat, it fluctuated between hot and cold. The engineer came up to resolve the problem and turn up the heat, but it didn't really help. We had to get additional blankets. The bathroom was so small and nothing like the photos. The desk chair was raggedy and the windows were cracked. I am sitting in a cold lobby as I type this. The valet parking is an additional $10 every time you take your vehicle out.
