Amanhavis Hotel

I was really looking forward to staying here overnight in the Arabic-style setting, but it was a bit disappointing. We did receive a friendly welcome, and the breakfast was good. I hated the room. We had the herb room, and it smelled of perfume to mask the mustiness. With my muscular rheumatism, it was very difficult to get out of bed because there was a wooden ledge. In hindsight, we should have asked for a different room, but they were even more expensive, and this one was already on the expensive side at €170 per night. Unfortunately, we couldn't dine there either; the chef was off that evening, and there aren't many restaurants in the area, but we were lucky to reserve one just in time.

The rating is actually 2.5. We chose the hotel because of the recommended restaurant. After paying for the reservation, we learned that the restaurant is closed in December. This should be noted on the website (or the "restaurant" removed as a convenience for people booking in the winter). The room was very nice, and the staff were kind enough to heat it before our arrival. The bathroom turned out to be missing a bathtub plug. I could have understood this omission if it weren't for the fact that it should have been on a chain, but there was only a broken one, which, to me, makes it questionable how someone cleaning the bathroom would have overlooked this. At the front desk, we were informed that we needed to run the water a bit before it would start running hot. Unfortunately, after about 10-11 minutes of running it, I realized I was wasting water, so I stopped waiting for the hot water and took a cold bath. Then I tried to dry my hair and the hairdryer didn't work 😅, very unfortunate. The worst thing about the room, however, was the beds. They are two single beds with wooden frames, so the couple sleeping in them has to sleep separately, on one, or one of you has to sleep on the wooden frame (I think I prefer beds where you sink between the mattresses). And the headboards have decorative stones, making it impossible to lean on them... The hotel's advantage is that the lady provided me with a nearly matching cork. They even wanted to change our room, but unfortunately, it was so cold that I decided against it. They provided me with a working hairdryer, but unfortunately, after I left. We were alone at breakfast, and the lady did a great job; it was plentiful, fresh, and very tasty. Overall, the value for money, in our case, was insufficient. It was definitely a series of unfortunate events.
