Our family recently stayed at this independent luxury resort for a vacation. The setting, facilities, and overall ambiance were truly beautiful, and for most of the trip, everything felt close to perfect. However, 5 out of 6 members of our family experienced severe gastrointestinal symptoms during and shortly after our stay. Three of us were already unwell before boarding our return flight, and upon arriving back home, we sought immediate medical treatment. The physical discomfort has been significant. We informed the resort promptly and received an initial courteous reply. Since then, despite several days passing, we have not received any further update or follow-up regarding the matter. As a high-end independent property, we believe guest health concerns deserve timely communication and careful review. While we cannot determine the exact cause of the illness, the lack of proactive follow-up has been disappointing. It is unfortunate that what was almost a perfect holiday concluded in this way. We hope the management will take this feedback seriously and review relevant hygiene and safety procedures to ensure the well-being of future guests.

This is an absolutely stunning private island with incredible views on both the lagoon and the sunset sides of the island. Service is very personalised as you would expect from such high level luxury. Beach casitas are well worth the additional splurge as you have direct access to your own part of this glorious beach with crystalline waters. Experiences such as the Kawayan bar were exceptional in creating a once in a lifetime type of experience where beautiful multicoloured fish swam to the surface of the water with waves lapping in the distance and you could snorkel and order your own favourite cocktail. Paradisiacal island is really what you get with the rooms here and our guest assistant Claire was exceptional in providing bespoke excellent service. You can see staff working really hard all around the resort and everyone says hello. The general manager and guest services representative even stood and waved as our flight departed - really classy elegant service. There are some improvements that can be made in the food and beverage areas, but having said that the Lagoon Club restaurant offers exceptional Japanese food and the Filipino feast offered on private dining was amazing and so delicious. We just had the most incredible time on this island and it's worth every penny if you can afford to come here! We found that the resort was quite family oriented so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it as a honeymoon island. There are many opportunities to find seclusion though as the beach runs on for miles and miles. More musical based evening entertainment wouldn't go amiss and a welcome complimentary glass of champers, although the house acoustic guitarist was very good. The resort ambience is also very low key so if you like dressing up, you might find you're the only ones doing that. This isn't necessarily such a bad thing but the island might benefit from having an area for guests wishing to have a more upscale dining experience.

Paradise Island - Well-aged luxury resort. We have visited at the beginning of February and the island is nothing short of breathtaking nature, Caribbean-like white sands mixed with the beauty of the turquoise waters of the Sulu sea. The service on this island was second to none, the staff couldn't do more to accommodate us during our visit. However, the resort itself compared to other Aman resorts and hotels is probably the one most in need of a comprehensive refurbishment. We had to book well in advance to be able to get one of the 5 casitas that come with a private pool. Booking a resort of this calibre you would have expected every casita to come with a private pool or some type of spa facility. The restaurants all lack a touch of luxury and technical update. The main pool was the biggest disappointment. It resembled a pool we have visited in a 3star hotel many decades ago. Furthermore, the menu was lacking in seasonal additions and culinary creativity. Biggest let-down was the pastry chef on this island - if there was one. The croissants or pain au chocolates were inedible. On a brighter note, the crew of the fishing and snorkeling boats were a delight and made our trip worthwhile. Also, this is the first resort we have been to, where you are allowed to drive your own golf-buggy. Plenty of outdoor activities, paddle tennis, tennis, climbing wall, gym, cycling etc. Very kids friendly with a great kids club.
