We booked for the night of December 31st, the end of the year. Check-in was quick and easy, and the receptionist was friendly. We asked her if the city tax was included in the booking, as it was written in our reservation, and she said yes, it was included in the booking fee. The room on the second floor was noisy; we could hear everyone in the street. On top of that, there were people setting off fireworks until 7:00 AM to celebrate the end of the year. We received two emergency alerts not to leave because of the smoke from the fireworks, and a building nearby caught fire. There were also the sounds of fire trucks everywhere. The rooms were lacking; there were no toiletries like toothbrushes or cotton balls. It was good that they provided towels and slippers. The room was somewhat cramped, and the bathroom was old, unlike the lobby, which was clearly renovated and looked nice. The room wasn't great; there are much better and cheaper options available. We arrived early for breakfast. The place was small and cramped, but there were many different options. When we went outside, there was a long queue. At checkout, another employee told us that we still had to pay the remaining city tax. We told her that the suspicion was that she was paid to do something, so how could she not be now? The truth wasn't clear at all. She said she'd talk to the manager to explain. The manager came, and she was practically glued to his ear. He neither explained anything to us nor listened to us. She literally called him over to repeat the exact same thing she'd said to him in front of us. Her attitude was so incredibly provocative! 👎🏼 I will never visit again! 👎🏼👎🏼

We had a second great experience at this hotel, we stayed here a couple of years ago and went back in December, we were greeted with free water, the hotel staff opened the door for us, and due to the holidays they were offering guest free Gluhwein or hot chocolate with Rum. We went with the hot Chocolate with Rum topped with whipped cream and it was an amazing Christmas treat. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, Andre at guest services hooked us up with water bottles. Breakfast was not included we had to pay extra for breakfast which was not cheap but convenient. This location is within walking distance to Museums, downtown and Heineken experience. Highly recommended, rooms are clean and spacious. The decor is classy and clean feeling. Would come back any day.
