We stayed in the Deluxe Queen room for four nights in late February. The location is ideal, one block off of Duval St and a short three block walk to the ferry terminal to Dry Tortugas. Our first two days there were unseasonably cold and the heat was not working. One quick note to Brightwild mgmt and they brought us a space heater! We then had a sink not draining and again, one quick message to mgmt and they had a repair crew in with parts right away. Built in 1869, expect an aging building. That said, it’s kept in good shape and is very clean. The beds are very comfortable with plenty of pillows and down comforters. The pool is small but heated and has plenty of sun chairs. George’s bar on the property is great with a Key Lime Martini that’s delicious. The main mansion has a number of rooms displaying what it looked like in its heyday. Curry Mansion is a great hotel and worth a stay.

BEWARE — some reviews in here not accurate. There is no breakfast included and in fact a quiche that is one inch in diameter costs ten dollars. There is NO STAFF on site for check in or other welcome/arrival or issue management. There is no where to safely lock up luggage when you have to wait for your door lock to work precisely at your check in time. Our room was nice but our friends had ants and others staying there had an infestation. YES the location is ideal — but if you’re a light sleeper being ear plugs. The pool was a nice perk. Communication with the hotel was terrible — I never received a confirmation email even though I paid in full at booking, I had to call 12 times the day we checked in to find out if my room was ready. No one answers emails or the phone. SO if you’re fine with the price so you get a great location go for it but know what level of service you’re getting.

We often stay in historic hotels. When we saw the Curry Inn for a trip in 2020, we booked immediately. The pandemic intervened and our trip was delayed until early 2026. Apparently the ownership changed in the meantime. We did not recheck reviews, just assumed everything would be the same. First mistake. The location is great, close to the action on Duval. No staff is on location except a bartender, who isn't able to help with any room problems. The parking is very limited and confusingly marked with tow away zone signs and spaces that one doesn't know are legit or not. There is no one to ask about this. The code to open our door was not attached to the first email or the second, but a text to management got us a code to enter our room fairly quickly. The heat was not working, just blowing cold air. Record cold temps made this uncomfortable. A space heater was found in our room and we ran this continually. Other guests did not have this device and were very cold. The first night, a fire alarm rang for at least 20 minutes beginning at around midnight. Firetrucks and fully geared firemen searched the hotel. No employees could be found to turn off the blaring siren. A second occurrence the next afternoon at 6pm was easier to walk away from. The property is not getting any maintenance, paint on the outside and inside looks rough, the wooden shutters in our room were falling apart, water was chronically leaking from our sink, hot water was present only if one ran the water over 10 minutes. This is a beautiful, historic, perfectly placed hotel but I would not recommend it. Wanky HVAC systems and water quirks are to be expected in historic buildings, but the troubles at the Curry Inn exceed what one can tolerate, especially with the very high cost of the rooms. Sorry to say we would never recommend this place to anyone.
