We were looking for accommodation on our first night in Patmos, as our destinations were different, and almost by chance we booked at Anamar Patmos. Besides being very economical, it surprised us positively in all areas. The room was awesome, comfortable and quiet and we honestly couldn't wait to wake up for the rich and delicious breakfast!!! The staff was very kind, helpful and above all people!! Of course we booked it again for our last night before our return. (The view from the second room is indescribable) Marilou you are wonderful, thank you for everything and we wish you a good reunion!! A.& M.

I loved this hotel, set amongst lovely gardens with pomegranate trees and beautiful flowers. A great location which gives the best of both worlds, stunning sunsets from the bay at the back of the hotel, and the other side brings you to the edge of Skala town a few mins walk to all the beautiful boutiques and restaurants. Theres lots of lower rooms set in the gardens but the higher rooms have stunning sea views and big balconies. We walked to the port in less than 10 mins, and it was so convenient for the town. The hotel is so sweet, it was spotless and you can forgive the odd imperfection, as the hotel has new management who are giving it a new lease of life and we loved it. The pool area is stunning and you wouldn’t expect to find such a little piece of paradise behind the main town. Staff wonderful, I’d definitely return.

The place of beautiful simplicity. This isn't the place for you if you're looking for the perfect property, a hotel with meticulous attention to detail where you can enjoy dream breakfasts and a room with all the amenities. It's the place to choose if you love simplicity with a hint of nostalgia, places that blend seamlessly with their surroundings rather than brazenly overpowering them, and smiles that humbly welcome you every time you pass through reception. We've already returned to Anamar three times, and each time we've wanted one of the upper rooms, which offer breathtaking sunsets from the small terrace. The rooms are spartan, though every time we return we find small improvements (which certainly don't make the place a luxury hotel, mind you). In this sprawling hotel, each room is a small, almost self-contained unit, where you're immersed in silence and peace, with the sound of the sea waves lulling you to sleep in the background. There are many steps to reach your room, but you're immersed in a place that seems to stand still in time. Sure, the location isn't perfect, and breakfast isn't exactly thrilling, but what can we say? For us, the Anamar still deserves five stars for its undiminished, almost melancholic beauty, but also for the kindness of the staff, always with a smile and a genuine desire to ask how guests are doing. A place we'll definitely return to.
