Upon entering our room it appeared clean and recently updated however within one hours time when the scent of the cleaning products had worn off the strong odor of mildew took over. The vinyl flooring was popping up in several areas and apparently water from an unknown source was causing the horrible odor. We contacted the front desk and were given another room and moved our belongings. The following morning and after not sleeping well we had an early appointment. Rather than checking out we decided to return to lay down for a couple hours. When we returned over two hours prior to the 11:00 am check out time the maid had torn down the bedding. Pillows, blankets and such were on the floor. I returned to the front desk to ask why and she stated that the maid found the room empty of our personal belongings and she only had until 3:00 p.m. to finish cleaning the rooms. I told her that was of no concern to us and that the room was paid for until 11:00 am. She ran my credit card for the full amount and I asked to speak to the manager immediately she stated the manager was not onsite but promised that she had noted our concerns and that she would be calling us. Needless to say she never did and we will NEVER return. In addition the parking area alongside the building had many people congragating just after dark and our room reeked of Marijuana. Pay the extra $30 to $40 and stay elsewhere.

German roaches. 'Nuff said, I didn't sleep a wink that night. One can hope this issue is long gone and these things can happen, but the little fellas had evidently been set up behind the mini fridge for more than a generation. The owner reluctantly comp'd me the night but I had been planning to hike lassen peak the next day. A ruined vacation, sleep, and waste of my time... worst overnight stay ever. This was back in June 2023 and I'm finally deleting the photos off my phone to make space - they've since lost their best western affiliation and seem to have at least painted the place.
