Andreolas Beach Hotel

The hotel seems to rely mainly on its location - it is almost right on the beach, but that's about it. Laganas is a popular place for young people who come here for fun and nightlife, but the beach in Laganas itself is nothing special. On the other side of the island you can find much nicer, quieter and often more private beaches that are worth visiting. However, since arriving, my stay at this hotel has only gotten worse. The air conditioning is charged at €10 per day, the rooms are musty, the staff were unpleasant and the breakfast was absolutely appalling - repeated every day and the choice was very poor. I don't understand why in Greece, where there is so much fresh produce, a hotel with a declared 3* offers such poor food. It would be enough to add some fresh vegetables, fruit and better quality pastries and the breakfast would be bearable. The owner should realize that this approach is ruining the reputation of an otherwise beautiful island. Zakynthos is a beautiful place, but I would never return to this hotel. I would definitely choose a different accommodation.

We chose Hotel Andreolas mostly just for a night's stay, because we wanted to see as much of the island as possible and eat mostly in taverns and places where Greece really offers its atmosphere and cuisine. But even so, this place was a complete disappointment. The hotel should not be called a hotel at all. It is an old, terrible building that looks like nothing has been done there for years. Upon arrival, we were hit in the nose by the musty smell that wafted from the entire room. The towels had no scent, just the same mustiness. Air conditioning for €10 a day? For that alone, it should not be a 3* hotel, but more like a cheap hostel. The bathroom was dirty, there was mold, limescale and dirt around the faucet. Our sheets were changed only once in the whole week, and only after we notified them. The bed was a disaster! The mattress was dirty, full of hair and fur, you don't even want to imagine what has been in it over the years. Breakfast? If you can even call it that, it was a complete disaster. Every day the same thing - overcooked eggs, cheap cheese and salami, no vegetables or fruit, at most a canned peach from a can. The pastries were ordinary bread, which by the end of the stay was so hard that you could break your teeth on it. The owner should be really ashamed to offer his guests something like that!!! You can really see if the owner does his business with love, but unfortunately this is not the case. The staff? Like from the Middle Ages. Stone expressions, no smile, no interest. None of them were pleasant, everything seemed like we were bothering them just by being there There is a beach nearby, but right next to it is a part where the water from the canal flows into the sea - really repulsive. If you don't want to pay €10 a day for air conditioning, you will have to sleep with the door open, and you won't get much sleep thanks to the chicken "farm" nearby - the rooster crows all night every few minutes. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Absolute horror from start to finish. And I honestly don't understand how anyone can have a positive review for this "hotel". Those people either lived under a rock or we weren't in the same establishment. Finally, I really hope that Czech travel agencies stop offering such "hotels", because this is not only a disgrace to the owner, but also to them.
