Antares & Spa Honfleur

Great hotel, very clean room. Excellent heated pool. Foosball, darts, and games available. I felt very welcome. I will be back.

We stayed at the Antarès Hotel in Honfleur and received an extremely warm welcome upon arrival. It's a shame we don't have the name of the receptionist, as she was truly pleasant and professional. 🍽️ Dining For our first evening, we chose to dine in and ordered simple dishes. The pizza was a very pleasant surprise: tasty and generous. The cheese board was nice, although it would have been nice to have more variety and stronger flavors, despite the presence of PDO cheeses. The prices are reasonable for what is offered. 🍳 Breakfast However, we were very disappointed with the breakfast, which cost €16 per person. Considering the price and what the competition offers, even in less upscale hotels, it is clearly not worth the cost. The selection is very limited, and the juices offered (orange and multivitamin) give the impression of being low-quality. Overall, there's a lack of variety and quality, which is a shame for an establishment of this standing. 🛏️ The Rooms The rooms are standard size and fairly well-equipped, but a real lack of maintenance is evident: Chipping paint on the doors Squeaky bed Damaged carpet (holes, dents) Faux wood flooring in the bathroom is coming loose and broken Lights sometimes malfunction In terms of amenities, it's far from current standards: Outdated televisions No built-in access to Netflix, Prime Video, etc. No Chromecast available 🔌 Electric Vehicle Charging A charging station is available in the parking lot, but it's not free. For a hotel of this caliber, it would have been preferable for the spa to be included or at least free for guests staying at the hotel, perhaps even factored into the room rate. This would significantly improve the experience for travelers with hybrid or electric vehicles. 🧖‍♀️ Spa, pool, sauna & hammam The pool photos are enticing, but in reality, it's quite standard and, more importantly, far too deep for shorter people: it's impossible to touch the bottom, even at the edge. The floor is extremely slippery; I nearly fell several times. The sauna and hammam are in dire need of repair: Damaged surfaces Sharp edges Real risk of injury --- In short, excellent service and decent food, but the hotel is in dire need of a general refresh, more modern amenities, a higher-quality breakfast, and improved safety in the wellness area. Overall a pleasant experience, but with room for improvement in value for money.
