Apollo Boutique Hotel

The room and bathroom were very spacious with all the necessary comforts. Breakfast was simply divine, served in a small, beautifully decorated, and quiet room. We also tried the hotel restaurant, which was very nice! The staff are truly charming, smiling, and helpful. A special mention to the young woman at reception who went out of her way to assist us. 🥰 The hotel is well located for walking to the center of Rome. In short, a big thank you!

This was our fourth stay at the Apollo in two years, as it had become our go-to hotel for our vacations in the capital. We got off to a bad start on the first day, when we were repeatedly asked for the tourist tax despite having already paid it (booking on their website), to the point of having to show their receipt to avoid paying it. We booked a superior room with a whirlpool tub, but the whirlpool tub didn't work, there was no hot water, and the shower was full of limescale and had an inconsistent flow. The only positive note was the long-haired receptionist who was willing to help us despite the indifference of the rest of the staff. We accepted a downgrade to another room and were offered a voucher to cover the mix-up. It seemed like there were no other options, but finally a manager asked for our IBAN for the refund, which apparently had become possible. Two weeks passed without receiving it, and after an email and a call, we were told the process was underway. After another 2 weeks (no sign of a refund), upon another call, we were told, rather resentfully, that the transfer had been made "a long time ago" and that a receipt had been sent. These statements were clearly FALSE, as none of this had occurred. Half an hour later, an instant transfer arrived with a receipt indicating that the transfer had been made today, after my call, confirming the falsity of the statements made on the phone. No apology for the room or for the shameful way the situation was handled. If we hadn't contacted us repeatedly, we wouldn't have received a refund and would have been charged the tourist tax twice. One can overlook problems, such as breakdowns or other issues, but not the blatant dishonesty of the establishment. Signed, your former loyal customer.

A small hotel with a warm atmosphere. A strong point, which makes up for some shortcomings, is the staff. I thank Melissa, Mishelle, Ginevra, Francesco, Edoardo, Irene, and everyone for giving my stay a warm and indispensable sense of familiarity.
