My personal review of the hotel on Golden Sands I can certainly understand the mixed reviews. Unfortunately, the rooms aren't modernly furnished, but rather equipped with inexpensive furniture. The TV promised German channels, but in reality, there were only Bulgarian channels. The bathroom was a complete disaster in terms of cleanliness. Toilet paper had to be requested separately. On the positive side, the bed was huge and very comfortable. The sleeping arrangements for the children were also adequate. The balcony with its sea view was definitely a highlight – see photo. Food & Drinks The food was varied and really delicious. There was plenty of vegetables, salads, fresh fruit, and cake – I had no complaints there. The drinks with dinner were also good and perfectly acceptable. Service & Staff The friendliness at the hotel leaves much to be desired – I would give it a failing grade. The staff, especially at the pool bar, seemed overwhelmed, unfriendly, and grumpy. On the positive side, the drinks were from a major beverage company, and the cocktails were tasty. Beach & Surroundings The walk to the beach takes about 10 minutes downhill and 15 minutes uphill. However, you're right on the main shopping street and party strip of Golden Sands. The hotel advertises a private beach – however, it's not "all-inclusive" as stated in the description. The transport there was more like a cattle drive. The beach itself is beautifully situated, and the small restaurant there offers delicious food – unfortunately, the staff is also rude. Conclusion We are generally very friendly guests and treat everyone with respect. It was all the more disappointing how little of that was reciprocated. Nevertheless, we had a great vacation. The hotel definitely has potential, but there's still a lot of room for improvement in terms of service and facilities.

The hotel was boring in the evenings. There was no entertainment. There was mold in the shower. It took reception over two days to issue missing towels and a key card. The food was okay. The pools were clean. The hotel beach was a few kilometers away. The hotel shuttle bus took guests back and forth every hour. Near the hotel, there's a promenade with shops and a beach, but with paid sunbeds and umbrellas. The sea and the beach were worth the visit.
