Armagrandi Spina Hotel

We came to Istanbul for a holiday and had dinner in the evening. The food was delicious, and the establishment and staff were excellent.

Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you. My husband and I stayed for New Year's, and it was an excellent experience. The location is fantastic, close to everything, especially the tram, restaurants, and most tourist attractions. The rooms were clean but a bit small. The hotel had an excellent location, and I chose a room with a view of the mosque from the balcony. The room facilities were a bit old, but the amenities were complete, and the staff were polite and welcoming, for which I was very grateful—it should have been a perfect experience. However, the enormous noise ruined everything! From morning till night, guests simply couldn't get a proper rest! My room was on the 5th floor, but the hotel had added a terrace above it, which was rented out to a restaurant. There was no waterproofing or soundproofing, and I could clearly hear the restaurant staff walking around and dragging tables and chairs upstairs. Many restaurants in Turkey have heavy tables and chairs and don't put soundproofing pads underneath. This might be fine if the restaurant is on the street, but it's a huge disaster in a room. They added a metal staircase between the two floors, and every time staff went up and down, it was like thunder in the room; my cup was vibrating. What's worse, this noise started at 7 am when the hotel was preparing breakfast and continued non-stop until the restaurant closed at 10 pm. Whether you wanted to sleep in or take an afternoon nap at the hotel, it was impossible; you couldn't get adequate rest during your trip! When I mentioned the noise issue to the front desk, suggesting they add soundproofing pads to the tables and chairs, the front desk said it wasn't necessary. They claimed they had repeatedly told the rooftop staff to lift the tables and chairs instead of dragging them. This is ridiculous. How can one person lift a table if there's only one person working on the rooftop? If they're short on time, they won't bother lifting each table and chair either. Clearly, I'm not the only complaining guest; this problem has been going on for a long time, but they haven't made any effective improvements. I hope the hotel owner can stay in this room for a week, and I'm sure he'll be ashamed to continue renting it out. P.S. The bathroom drainage and waterproofing are old and worn out; the floor is flooded after showering. The sad thing is that this could have been much better if the business had made even the slightest effort.
