Ascott Raffles City Beijing

The service here was excellent overall. We had issues on our way from the airport, and after calling the hotel, the staff immediately stepped in — they spoke with our taxi driver and helped us out of a difficult situation. Throughout our stay, they were consistently helpful, whether it was assisting with takeout orders or giving clear directions to different places in the city. The room we chose was amazing value for money. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the space in general was comfortable and well‑designed, making it feel more like a home than a hotel room. A genuinely great stay with service that really stands out.

Overall stay at this hotel was underwhelming and personally I feel that it lack the usual Ascott hospitality that I had felt at other properties. To start off with, check in was kind of smooth and Miki from front desk went beyond to introduce us to Beijing. From there, things started to take a downturn, albeit less drastic. Firstly, though the apartment was big and most of the facilities were working ( lest one led downlight), the room was slightly dusty and has leftover hairs from previous occupants. Secondly, the matteress was too soft and springy and I can feel the springs in it. Bedsheet quality was a tad of a let down and doesn't feel premium for the price point. Pillows were non existence and I am better off sleeping without them. Housekeeping is another area that needs improvement. I had clearly booked for 5 occupants but for the daily refresh, only 4 towels were provided and I've to request for additional towel every single night. Clearly it's not indicated or communicated between front desk and housekeeping. Basic amenities such as dishwashing liquid wasn't automatically provided and has to be requested. Icing on the cake was upon delivery, the bottle was delivered without a bottle cap. Also, the liquid laundry detergent was only automatically topped up on the second day - subsequent days I've to call front desk to request. I'm leaving the best till the last - on the fourth day, housekeeping delivered 3 bottles of laundry detergent but one was almost empty, the other two was only half filled. Obviously that chap has taken the leftovers from elsewhere and passed them to be without checking. Also, it's a surprise to be that daily refresh doesn't include making up the beds which is unusual in this part of the world. Overall, a lot of areas that needs improvement at this property.

The hotel has a large, clean room with everything: a washing machine, a fully equipped kitchen ready for cooking, and excellent service. The complex is large and has everything you could need. I highly recommend it for families or groups of young people.
