Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur

Stayed 3 nights here, and had a very comfortable stay. We stayed in studio apartments which were very spacious with all necessary amenities. We had two apartments but they couldn't accomodate having both parties in the same floor, but it was a short notice and we didn't book under same reservation, hence not really their issue. Good location with a short walk to KL sentral. We picked it primarily for this reason as most of our itinerary was base off of KL sentral, that worked very well. Lots of indian food outlets are available just across the street, which also came in handy for us. Breakfast was fairly simple and somewhat repetitive over the few days we tried - which we personally didn't mind as we wanted a light breakfast. If you are looking for a full scale buffet, might end up bit disappointed. Staff were very friendly, who tried their level best to get a late checkout after our request, but couldn't do because they had reservations. They still offered to hold our luggage safely and offered us drinks while we were killing time!

Our second stay here, we like the location, the size of the room, kitchen, bathroom and living room. TV channels are erratic and slow to connect. AC could be cooler. The shower has 2 main faults which need to be addressed! The floor tiles are very slippery. The hand held shower is awkward, doesn’t stay in place because it has been wrongly placed. It falls all the time, the weight of the shower head is such that it has no balance and I got hurt 3 times falling on my toes 😖I didn’t report it as the staff can’t do anything about it and they are just too sweet. But the management should see to these important issues for health & safety of guests. Not everyone will stay quiet like us 😔. The kitchen could be better equipped with more pots and pans, and crockery. The kettle is certainly one thing I would get rid of the first. It is strange, square and very heavy. The cleaning staff is excellent! The lifts work well. Everywhere is clean and tidy. You can still hear a bit of the loudest noises of the street but it doesn’t bother us. We live the early morning singing of the Koel bird and the calls of prayer. 🕌Malaysia is marvellous, the people - one of the friendliest and most tolerant and this place certainly reflects it 🇲🇾 In all, this is a gem of a place and we would happily come back again.

⭐ 1/5 - Disappointing Experience - Not Worth the Premium Price I recently stayed at Ascott Kuala Lumpur Sentral and had multiple issues from check-in to checkout that made this stay a complete waste of money. Check-in Problems: When booking through Agoda, I selected the early check-in option and called the hotel TWICE two days before arrival to confirm my early arrival. Despite booking a city view room, I was given a room with a BLOCKED city view. Their excuse? My "urgency" for early check-in - even though I had properly selected this option during booking and confirmed it in advance. Completely unacceptable. Disgusting Room Conditions: The room had a persistent URINE SMELL and CIGARETTE SMOKE odor that lingered throughout my stay. This is absolutely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one charging premium prices. The bathroom was even worse - poor shower facilities that barely functioned properly. Basic cleanliness and maintenance should be a given, not a luxury. Breakfast Confusion: My booking clearly included breakfast for the room type and price I paid, but their system showed nothing. Had to waste time resolving this discrepancy at the front desk. Poor booking management and communication between Agoda and the hotel. Terrible Breakfast Quality: Once I finally got breakfast access, I was shocked. Minimal selection, poor quality - even 3-star Holiday Inn Express hotels offer WAY more variety and better food. This was embarrassing for the price point. Zero Compassion at Check-out: The final straw was at check-out. I informed the staff that I wasn't feeling well and requested a late check-out - I only needed an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour of rest to recover enough to travel back home safely. They completely ignored my health concern and immediately sent housekeeping to rush us out of the room. Where's the hospitality? Where's the basic human compassion? This is NOT how you treat guests, especially when someone is unwell and just needs a little time to recover before a journey home. Better Options Available: For the same or lower price, ALOFT and Hilton in the area offer: ✅ Better room quality with PROPER CLEANLINESS ✅ Superior service that actually cares about guests ✅ Reliable booking systems ✅ Much better breakfast and amenities ✅ Functional bathroom facilities Bottom Line: Complete disappointment. Between the disgusting room odors, poor bathroom facilities, booking mishaps, blocked city view despite advance communication, breakfast issues, subpar offerings, and the cruel treatment during check-out when I was unwell - I cannot recommend this property. Save your money and book ALOFT or Hilton instead - you'll get much better value, service, cleanliness, and actual hospitality. Better to escort yourself to another hotel than stay at Ascott!
