Athena Boutique Hotel

Unprofessional service/ untrained front counter. Staff doesn't know how to resolve or looking for a solution or deescalte to make customer feels as ease. Instead turn around and blamed customer. We would have stayed for another week or so, but we canceled our reservation, because of a staff (tall skinny with glasses). Beware supervisor doesn't apologize on behalf of her staff. This is my first stay and will be my last.

Really bad service. Terrible customer service. The guy in the front desk has big attitude and the supervisor will not do anything about that. We originally book our rooms through a third party, but needed one more room. I called the hotel and one of the front desk told me that she has a room available for me and since I have my booking for the other rooms, she will just put the request on there. On my arrival day, I reminded the front desk guy about that extra booking. He asked me what is my confirmation number for that extra room. I told him that the lady last time didn’t give me anything and said will just add on my other booking. He then gave me an attitude and blamed on me that how come when I booked I didn’t ask for confirmation. He then questioned if I really called their hotel. I showed him the call history. My husband got frustrated and started to complain in English. And that finally got the supervisor’s attention (just because there are foreigners around). However there was no apology from them. Also at the beginning, their check in time was supposed to be at 2 pm we got there at 2:10 and the guy told me the room Isn’t ready. I asked it’s 2:10 already how come. He then gave me an attitude and said can’t I see how busy they were earlier? Like?????? No customer service at all. I decided to cancel all the booking later. I am pretty sure they did not care because one of my family checked in later ( didn’t know the story yet) asked him if she can extend 1 more night. He told her why don’t she book thru 3rd party. This reservation was done thru 3rd party anyways. So basically Athena only want business from foreigners ( though we are Vietnamese American). They don’t want business from people who booked or made reservation thru 3rd party app. I’m so disappointed with Athena. This location is near my old house so my whole family (5 rooms) we’re so excited to stay here.

The restaurant is four-star, the breakfast is excellent, the rooms are clean, highly recommended, and there's even a bathtub. The room rate is cheap, but the soundproofing isn't great.
