The Atrium Hotel: Almost Excellent, But Not Quite ★★★★☆ Stepping into the Atrium Hotel, the first thing that strikes you is the lobby — a soaring, light-filled space that lives up to its name entirely. The central atrium rises several floors above the reception desk, flooded with natural light from a glass ceiling that gives the whole building an airy, open quality rarely found in city centre hotels. It is an immediate and effective first impression, setting a tone of relaxed sophistication that carries through much of the rest of the stay — though not, it must be said, through all of it. The rooms are comfortable and cleanly designed, offering a modern aesthetic that prioritises practicality over personality. Beds are large and genuinely restful, linens are crisp, and the blackout curtains do an admirable job of keeping out city light. However, the rooms themselves lack a certain character — the décor is inoffensive to the point of feeling slightly anonymous, and a few details betray their age, including a bathroom in need of regrouting and a wardrobe door that refused to close properly throughout the stay. These are minor complaints, but at this price point minor complaints have a way of adding up. The restaurant and bar sit beneath the atrium on the ground floor, and the setting is genuinely lovely. Breakfast is a highlight — a well-stocked buffet with hot and cold options and attentive service that sets the day up well. Dinner, however, is where expectations and reality part ways slightly. The menu promises more than the kitchen consistently delivers, with dishes that are competent but rarely memorable, and prices that feel a touch ambitious for the level of cooking on offer. The bar in the evening is a more straightforward success, the soft-lit atrium above creating an atmosphere that encourages one more drink than you had planned. Service is warm and largely efficient, with front desk staff who are genuinely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. On two occasions, however, housekeeping fell short — a room left incompletely serviced one afternoon and a request for extra towels that required a follow-up call before it was fulfilled. Nothing serious, but the kind of inconsistency that prevents a good hotel from becoming a great one. When the service hits its stride it is very pleasant indeed; the frustration is simply that it does not always do so. The Atrium Hotel is a solidly good option that comes tantalisingly close to being an outstanding one. The bones are excellent — the building is beautiful, the location is convenient, and the ambition is clearly there. With some attention to the finer details of room maintenance and service consistency, it could easily command five stars and the full-throated recommendation it almost earns. As it stands, it is a comfortable, attractive, and mostly reliable stay that will leave most guests satisfied, if occasionally wishing for just a little more.

Stayed at the Atrium Hotel Heathrow for Mother’s Day with my children. The rooms themselves were decent, however the overall experience was disappointing due to several issues during our stay. When we arrived in the room there were dirty towels left behind and opened, used bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, which made it seem like the room had not been properly cleaned before we checked in also beds are so hard. The most concerning part of the stay happened during the Mother’s Day breakfast. Around 10:00am I suffered a burn to my arm from exposed hot buffet equipment in the toaster area. The equipment was positioned extremely close together with no protective cover or warning signs, making it very easy for a guest to accidentally touch a hot surface. The response from staff was also poor. There appeared to be no proper first aid available, and I was only offered ice while other guests tried to help with advice at reception. For a busy hotel hosting traveling guests families and children, this was very worrying. There were also noise disturbances reported during the stay, and the cot provided for my 1-year-old was broken no mattress which raised additional safety concerns. Overall, while the room itself was acceptable, the cleanliness issues and the way the injury incident was handled by staff were very disappointing and not what you would expect from a hotel stay, especially on what was meant to be a special Mother’s Day with my children.

Booked this hotel for my twins birthday and we had the best time thr food was amazing and so are the staff and definitely the nite staff ...the spa is beautiful and I will most definitely be coming back soon
