We booked a cruise out of Lisbon and arrived two days early to explore the city. We chose this hotel due to its location being within walking distance to the cruise port and also close to many places of interest and restaurants we thought we might want to visit. As it turned out, the trec to the cruise port terminal was indeed a simple ten minute walk with luggage on rollers. Perfect! We chose a balcony room and it did not disappoint. It had a great view of the river and was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff, specifically Catarina, was very accommodating and helped us with luggage storage as we arrived early and our rooms were not ready yet. This allowed us to spend the day exploring lisbon without worrying about luggage. She also helped with movement of luggage to our room. Catarina was very knowledgeable about the local places of interest and dining options and helped and advised us so we could make the best use of our short time in Lisbon. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and we would say it exceeded our expectations and it will be our hotel of choice for future travel plans to Lisbon.

Pros: Great location and good breakfast. Cons: Service and quality fall short of expectations for a 5 star hotel, or even a 3-4 star hotel you’d experience elsewhere like in America, Singapore, etc. Examples: Amenities: the communal bathrooms (gym bathrooms, lobby bathrooms) did not have any way of drying your hands. They just had tissues, but no towels/dryer. Also, the gym bathroom didn’t have any soap, for multiple days. Rooms: Showers did not have hot water half the time. Their water heaters must be incapable of heating enough water for everyone. Rooms: Shower is poorly designed; you have to stand on top of the shower drain, which is uncomfortable. (The rainfall shower head is positioned directly above the shower drain). Never seen that type of oversight before, even in cheap 2-star hotels in the US. Service: I requested a razor from the front desk and it didn’t arrive over an hour later. I ended up checking out before it came since I had to go. Access management: the room keys were already deactivated around 11am even though checkout is at noon, and I hadn’t checked out yet. Super weird. Rooms: they only stocked the bare minimum towels (2 bath towels, 2 hand towels). In most other hotels they give you some extras, but not the case here. Overall this place felt stingy and not fitting of the 5 star rating.
