The highlights: - the food (extremely good) - the service provider by the restaurant staff (who are helpful and kind) - the sea views Things to improve (so many!): - for the price and the fact that it is labelled ad a 5 star hotel, the experience is definitely sub-par - we had a room change in the middle of our stay, and were left without a room for hours - our room was not cleaned for a whole day, we had to ask for room cleaning the following day - they made a mistake in the account and tried to charge us twice for transportation (almost 400 GBP), right before we were due to leave to catch our flight. It took 20 minutes of argument to fix or and show them that we had paid already - part of the hotel is still under construction, and some guess were accommodated in an incomplete building - staff at main reception were unhelpful - room was missing basic amenities (water glasses, coffee cups) - beach towels were often not available due to issues with the laundry - their private beach gets submerged by water times almost every evening, sometimes making it unusable for the whole morning after until the sargassum seaweed is removed (sometimes not until lunchtime) - often times, many items of the menu would not be available - our door in the second room we stayed in did not lock - noise insulation in room was very poor (we could hear all noises from the neighbouring bathroom) - many other finer details we did not like, at this price point If you pay top dollar for what should be a very nice holiday, you'd expect a much much better standard. I would not recommend it.

We spent a week at the AWA Hotel and everything was absolutely perfect. The welcome and the location are simply spectacular. We recommend it 100%.

Would not recommend staying here. The rooms in the newer part are decent, but the electrical service kept shorting out and turning the lights on in the middle of the night. The beach here was the worst part. The pictures make it look spacious and relaxing but thats far from true. The water here was absolutely gross and the adjacent beach had so much seaweed and trash that the water was brown and smelled terribly. We had lunch here and it was so over the top expensive. More than our dinners elsewhere. Lastly, the service was lack luster. Really seemed less interested in hospitality and more interested in getting you in and out.
