Okay. So this was a business trip coming from the U.S. but heck it’s Jamaica so I made it into a business/ little vacation! Which turn out horrible due to hurricane. Okay … so i arrived earlier before my checkin.. okay there was no travel advisory or anything till like maybe the day before the actually hurricane ( something I’m not used to too) I just feel like if a storm was coming give people a option to cancel or rebook ( Karisma) so this nothing toward azul hotel it’s who they go through for booking as I learned when I check in a day later because the island was shutdown they had some kinda island emergency ( Melissa hurricane ) which prevented me to check in the actual day , I called karisma to let them know ., the crazy part they knew !! I called them several times mind you karisma the third party or whatever they are, it’s not 24hr service so the hours are limited which I have never.. if you have a emergency or need to rebook your screwed. So they next day I arrived and I explained the situation which the rep at the front desk was so amazing and super friendly! They felt so bad they upgraded my room. So they was saying next time to book directly with them, and to call karisma to see can they accommodate since I book with them to give me credit. For the one day, due to island emergency shutdown!! Called karisma company and these people said it’s nothing they can do!?!?? I was like I called y'all several y'all don’t have a 24hr operation hours if you guys gonna operate as a second or third party for a hotel DO better ! I have never in my life of traveling been so disappointed! Pros: azul hotel was nice , the staff was amazing/nice. The rooms are very nice and elegant. Cons: I will never book with Karisma! They will not accommodate you.

I I highly recommend this resort! I arrived here about two weeks before hurricane Melissa struck. The views were stunning. The beach was raked every morning to look brand new every morning. The food was very good, the people and staff, incredible and attentive, music, drinks and a staff that genuinely cares! However, once hurricane Melissa came to this area, where the Resort is, is when I really saw what this Resort and it’s people are all about! While they had their own families and homes to care for, they made sure that every guest was safe from this hurricane and took great care to make sure everyone had food, was in secured rooms and was well taken care of and given good communication. The preparations they took for the hurricane were systematic , well organized, and they were well prepared, and their buildings were built so hurricane resistant that they were strong enough to resist the storm. Thanks to their efforts, all of us were well and safe! It is one thing to have a nice resort and beautiful views and food and drinks and music and enjoy yourself. It is quite another level when there is an emergency and you see how well everyone performed here and what length they went to make sure we were all safe before, during and after the storm. Every staff member from customer service, front desk to maintenance, maids, bellmen and chefs and servers and others were all incredible! They revealed who they really are, beautiful people mostly from Jamaica some from Mexico with great leadership, and a great team. I am forever appreciative of their efforts to keep me safe and treat me well under difficult circumstances . Again, that is where they really shined. I love this resort Jamaica and it’s people.

Horrible experience with this hotel. Stay away!!!!! Worse Hotel In Negril and the most run down of all the all inclusive . I paid for a night on Priceline, at check in they refused entry saying it’s not possible that I booked. I showed them the confirmation and that my card was charged. Their response “it’s not possible, even after I showed them they showed availability online. They did not assist with any kind of refund or to postpone my reservation for a later date. Zero customer service skills, horrible answers given to me when I paid. I even said I don’t need a room I just want to be able to eat, and they couldn’t even give any kind of consideration that I drove hours to get this hotel for them not even to help me In away. Like other guest said stay away from this place. I lost $1000 and they are telling me to contact the place I booked. I will never ever return or spend any $ with this place. Stay anywhere else in Negril and you would do better.
