Baia Bodrum Hotel

Great vacation, perfect facilities, even for kids, and excellent food. The Starbucks was delicious.

We stayed at Baia for 5 days at the end of July. Pros: -The main pool is both beautiful and breezy. Sitting by the pool is quite enjoyable. -The food is above average. The grilled dishes were dry. The pasta was cold and very oily. In the olive oil dishes, for example, the green beans and artichokes had bones in them every time I tried them. But the traditional Turkish and Ottoman cuisine dishes were extremely delicious; sticking to them made us feel satisfied and full. -Although there were sometimes delays and waits in beverage service, the staff were generally attentive and polite. -The Starbucks staff by the pool were always smiling and helpful. -The cocktails are good, and the bartenders do their best, tailoring the cocktail to your taste. -We stayed one floor below the pool in the main building. Our room was beautifully decorated and clean. The room fragrances were very nice; the room smelled wonderful upon entering. The beds were comfortable, and the sheets and towels were always clean. The balcony was spacious and comfortable, like a terrace. - The room's location was great for us as we mostly hung out by the pool. - The DJ performances and live music in the evenings by the pool were nice. The only downside was that everyone was playing and singing 90s Turkish pop. Although I normally love it, it got a little boring. The music genres could be more varied. The karaoke night was also fun. - The sea in the bay where the hotel is located is very beautiful. It's like a flat sheet, spotlessly clean. - They don't give out towels by the pool and the sea. You can go and get as many as you want and change them whenever you want. Cons - The biggest downside for us was that they removed lunch from the main restaurant. You have to go to the open-air buffet by the sea for lunch. We ate lunch in the midday heat in Bodrum for 2 days, sweating under the sun, and decided not to go for lunch there again. Lunch isn't a buffet; you have to order and wait. I don't know if I ate a meal or got beaten up in that heat. And on top of that, the portions are tiny! Instead of ordering again and waiting again when I wasn't full, I decided to go up to my room hungry and cool off. -Besides the 3 main meals, the only snacks available are pastries found at Starbucks. If you don't go to lunch or miss it like we did, the only alternative the hotel offers is pastries. -Unfortunately, the sun loungers by the sea are insufficient despite being very close together. I think the beach is small compared to the hotel's capacity. In the mornings, everyone goes and lays down their towels and reserves sun loungers. If you don't get up early and reserve a sun lounger, you won't find one by the sea. Luckily, the poolside was quiet. -Because the sun loungers are very close together and cramped, it's impossible to move them to the right or left to create shade depending on the position of the sun. And there's no breeze at all by the sea. -If you are a family with children, there is no beach. Well, there is, but it's only about 5 meters long, very small, and there's nowhere to sit there. -There is no service by the pool. You have to go and get everything yourself: tea, coffee, cocktails, water. -The same music is played every day in the same order by the sea and by the pool. The first two days are nice, but after the third day it gets boring. -There's no animation... absolutely none. We only played water polo once in the pool in 5 days. And once, a male animator in a woman's costume came and made comments to my wife and me. That's it. -The area where the mini "aquapark" is located gets a lot of sun and there's no wind at all; there aren't enough sunbeds and umbrellas. You get roasted in the heat while waiting for the children. -In the mini disco, the same 5 songs are sung every day and then they disperse; there's nothing else going on. -The same bartenders work in the bars from morning till night. I really don't understand how many hours these people work; it's a shame. This situation inevitably reflects as weariness in the bartenders' attitudes. -Since we stayed on the lower floor of the pool in the main building, the noise from live music, karaoke, etc. by the pool in the evenings reaches the room quite a bit. My daughter had trouble falling asleep until the music stopped at 11 PM. In short, while it has many advantages, it doesn't provide service that justifies the price. If I'm going to a hotel of this caliber, the most important thing is that I shouldn't go hungry! They urgently need to change the lunch situation. There should be a buffet lunch in the main restaurant; if I'm paying this much money, I should be able to comfortably fill my stomach in an air-conditioned environment.

The hotel was very clean and tidy. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was also very good. Overall, I was very satisfied and would choose it again. Many thanks to the animation team for taking care of us during our holiday.
