The hotel is in an unbeatable location close to the bike trail , the ferry to Balboa Island and the pier. It is pricey though specially for the low price rooms since they have no view at all. It is clean and the rooms are big and confortable. The breakfast is not good so you are better off eating at the pier or the close restaurants. overall a good place for 1 night. Did not get to see the rooms in the resort area which are the rooms with an ocean view and are the pictures that you see on Google and their website. The cheaper rooms are on the back

When we checked in our room, the key BEARLY worked to get the door open, when we first walked into the room, there were giant chunks of paint missing, the sheets were covered in black fuzz, the room temp was 80. there wasnt a blind on our window that faced 3 rooms, which we complained about, and then we went off to explore balboa, when we got back, our key didnt work at all, so we went back to the room to get new ones, and they said "oh we thought you guys were in *blank room* so we havent fixed the window blinds yet, *mind you we filled out contact information yet they stayed they had no way to contact us* 25 mins later a boy came and thumb tacked a sheet to our window, cool fine its whatever atleast they did something. The next day we went to shower for the event we were going to, and the shower had two temps, hot and boiling, which was so unbelievable. We didnt even bother to complain again because we were leaving the next morning, we had issue after issue with the room key bearly working, We went to check out, and we were told at the time of check in we had a $50 incidental charge that would drop off our account, but when we checked out he explained we would be charged $66 dollars in total for a $30 a day resort fee, (the room was prepaid) so nothing should have been on us, and I stated to the man for "all the issues we had, there shouldn't be any fee" he threw his hands up and said "I dont know about any of that" I stated it was fine and that Id be calling when the manager was there. All he said was okay. My husband and I started loudly talking when we were packing our car, and he came running out and said "my fault everything is taken care of the $50 will fall off" and we thanked him. The hotels only saving grace was a tall blonde woman, she was amazing to talk, and remembered us and why we were here. We had to pay $55 for parking as this inn offers valet parking but its $60 a day. Free breakfast? Never heard of her, or saw. Overall this is the WORST hotel weve ever stayed at, and weve stayed at the dingest hotels in the middle of bum no where Iowa. Save your money, and time.
