Actually a nice hotel in a good location, but... Here is my extremely unpleasant experience with the B&B Hotel Leipzig City. In March 2025, I booked a hotel room for March 2026 at a relatively low price for a trade fair stay and paid the amount in advance to guarantee the reservation. In November 2025 (8 months after booking), I received an email informing me that my booking had to be canceled due to a system error that had led to overbooking. Mistakes can happen, I understand that, so my review is based on the communication that followed from that point on. When such an error occurs, I expect the hotel to proactively do everything possible to help the customer. The only "help" I received was a link to a booking portal. I had to painstakingly inquire about everything else regarding the process and compensation for the additional costs of alternative accommodation via email after email. The worst experience, however, was definitely the handling of the refund I was undeniably entitled to for the costs I had already paid. Here, too, there was absolutely no proactive communication; I had to contact them several times and remind them about the refund, to which I was given various reasons for the delay. Unfortunately, PayPal buyer protection was also useless, as the transaction had been processed more than 180 days prior. Ultimately, I had to initiate legal debt collection proceedings to get my money, which finally arrived after more than two months of back and forth. I am now curious to see if the reimbursement of the late fees and damages will go more smoothly.
