B&B Hotel Lyon Centre Gambetta

It’s been a while that I’ve been to such an extraordinary bad hotel. Apart from the incredible hot rooms (even after complaining the staff was not willing to fix it), the cheap breakfast and the constant noise of the outside, what made this stay so incredible bad is the AWFUL service of the service desk. I had an incredible important deadline and stood before the lady with tears in my eyes, begging her to use a computer for a few minutes as I had a 30 minute deadline. I even offered to pay the full price of an extra room just to use a computer for a maximum of 30 minutes. Instead of helping, her attitude was to continue with a straight face “this is not a service we offer.” While I’m looking at 2 computers in front of her. I tried to explain, I cried, I even got upset. Nothing helped. I guess it’s true what they say about the French. If you have the ability to go to a different hotel, please do yourself a favor and do that, because the staff here will give you a nervous breakdown if you need any kind of help from them. EDIT: Apparently the “lady” was the manager, Agnes. Who was also unwilling to take my formal complaint, referring me to some email address or whatever. Wow, I cannot believe a hotel manager could be this incredibly heartless. It had been a long time since I had stayed in such a disastrous hotel. Besides the stifling heat in the rooms (despite my complaints, the staff refused to intervene), the pathetic breakfast, and the incessant noise from outside, what made this stay absolutely horrible was the appalling service at reception. I had a crucial deadline and, with tears in my eyes, I found myself in front of the receptionist, begging her to lend me a computer for a few minutes, as I only had 30 minutes left. Perfect, simple, clean, efficient

The hotel is ideally located; there's a supermarket right downstairs, a pharmacy a few minutes away, and plenty of excellent restaurants nearby. As for noise, I wasn't bothered by other guests. However, a major drawback is how hot the hotel is—too hot, whether in the hallways, at breakfast, or in the rooms. I turned off the heating immediately upon arrival; it must have been easily 25 degrees Celsius in the room. Even with the heating off, I had to sleep with the window open for all four nights because the temperature wouldn't go down otherwise. I thought it was just me, but I heard other people complaining about it at breakfast, and my colleague wasn't feeling well at night either, so it clearly wasn't just my perception. I ended up sleeping with the window open, with all the street noise outside, which meant I didn't sleep very well. It's a real shame because I have no other complaints about the hotel. Breakfast is very good and the welcome is very good.
