Its really difficult to find fault with anything to do with our stay. The room was lovely, massive bed, very quiet, great views, really great food, fab selection, very tasty and cooked well. Yes, the breakfast is a buffet, but they offer items to order as well, I had a delicious eggs royale. The spa is really good, gorgeous massage, loved the jacuzzi, steam room etc. but really the most outstanding thing was the impeccable service we received from all the staff we encountered, from check in, the spa, the restaurant, the bar, everyone so friendly, knowledgeable and happy to go the extra mile, what is do often missing nowadays! Well done Bannatyne's, I'm sure Duncan would be proud 👏 we will definitely be returning.

We spent our Valentines weekend at the Bannatyne Hotel and it was a good stay. However, it wasn't as good as I would have expected from a 4* hotel. We were allocated a good sized room and the bathroom. Cleanliness was ok, although lacked the attention to details, for example, the bedpost was quite dusty and the bedthrow seemed as it was washed ages ago. The tea selection was also quite poor. The Spa treatments and facilities were ok also, again, not the standard of a 4* hotel. The indoor jacuzzi was rather cold and spa treatments could have been better for the price. The massage was quite poor compared with ones I had in the past somewhere else. The restaurant - again , just ok. The breakfast was good but I've had better and the Valentines dinner was just ok. We had Chateaubriand which was one of the worst I've ever had , and that costed us extra £20 each to the menu price per person. These comments aside, the staff was wonderful and true gems.

Good hotel and spa. We had a deluxe room, it was spacious and functional. Everything worked ok. The only gripe was the pillows. Very uncomfortable. Breakfast was ok. Very basic choice, but they offer a cooked breakfast from their little menu. We stayed for the Valentine’s Day and had a dinner which was very nice. However if you’d like a good steak go elsewhere. The Chateaubriand was overcooked. The spa facilities are ok but in a separate building so a bit inconvenient if the weather is not good.
