This is my first time at Barceló Ixtapa. The facilities are outdated, the bathroom is very dark and the door doesn't close properly, the minibar is unimpressive, and the products are low quality (Tecate, Totis, De la Rosa). There's no liquor. The food is good but basic, and the bartenders have terrible attitudes. I asked the young man at Miramar for a carajillo and he told me to go get an espresso. Some of the bartenders at the Pool Bar also had terrible attitudes; it's almost embarrassing to ask them for anything. In the end, I think it's because of the tips. Foreigners leave better tips than locals, and that has led to these attitudes towards us. Additionally, people who come here treat them differently. The taxi driver told me that charter buses arrive with people from Morelia, Michoacán, etc. In short, they're devaluing the place. If you're looking for exclusivity like at the RIU resorts, you won't find it here.
