Barcelona Apartment Val

Beautiful apartment...in a historic building, managed by the 5-star Hotel Claris. We stayed in Apartment 1/B for 6 people (there were 5 of us), which was very spacious and had 3 bathrooms. The kitchen was very well-equipped with a kitchenette, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. The location was spectacular...on Passeig de Gràcia, just a few meters from the metro station, which is very convenient as it's served by three lines, in addition to the train line (which also connects to the airport). There are bus stops for easy access to the Sagrada Familia and other attractions (if you prefer the bus to the metro). The Egyptian Museum is next to the building, and 200 meters away is Casa Battlò, and La Pedrera is also very close (both within walking distance). Passeig de Gràcia is a shopping area with stores for major clothing brands, and it's a pleasant walk. Supermarkets, bars, and restaurants are also nearby. If I really had to find a flaw, it's that during our 5-day stay, the apartment wasn't cleaned. A lady came in the afternoon of the third day. I had asked her to come back the next morning because we were in the room at the time and the girls were sleeping. She left us two clean towels, but then she didn't come the next day. Aside from this small flaw, everything was perfect. Check-in and check-out are at the Hotel Claris, just a few meters from the building, and the staff is very kind and helpful. On the day of check-out, they offer free luggage storage...another excellent service. Highly recommended. Maybe make arrangements in advance for cleaning, though.

I read quite a few reviews after booking and I’ll admit — some of them worried me. But in the end, you simply need to know what to expect. The location is unbeatable. I walked almost all of Barcelona on foot — at least all the major sights — and honestly, this is one of the best and most convenient areas you can stay in. Our suite was truly lovely: spacious, comfortable, and full of character. Yes, it’s not the cleanest or most perfectly maintained room I’ve ever stayed in. But I’ve also never stayed in such an old, well-preserved historic building before. And that’s the charm: the original mosaic floors, the wooden window frames, the traditional doors, the high ceilings… you can feel the history of what must have once been a well-to-do Barcelona home. Everything is old, naturally — but it’s authentic, and that alone makes the experience special. And honestly, for the location and the historical value of the building, I think the price we paid was more than fair. In fact, it could easily be more expensive for what it offers. If you expect a flawless, modern hotel, this isn’t it. If you appreciate character, history and location, you’ll love it.
