Baymont by Wyndham Blackwell I-35

We stayed in Blackwell for one night, and this hotel was very conveniently located right off I-35. There is a Mexican restaurant nearby, which I personally would not recommend, but there are also two gas stations and a Braum’s close by. That makes quick access to fuel and inexpensive food easy, all within about a quarter mile. Checking in was simple, and the manager was extremely friendly and helpful. Very talkative and welcoming. This is a lower-priced hotel, so the rooms are a bit dated and the furniture shows some wear, but everything was clean and comfortable. We travel with our own pillows because most hotels either have pillows that are too bulky to use or feel like rocks in a pillowcase. Surprisingly, their pillows were soft and comfortable, unlike most hotels we stay in, which is often. It is a little noisier than some places. There appear to be quite a few oilfield workers staying there, and they tend to leave early in the morning, so there can be some activity in the parking lot. We use a white noise app on our phones, which blocks that out completely, so it was not an issue for us. The hallways were quiet. The manager even mentioned that they take noise control seriously and address any problems right away. We personally had no noise issues at all. The shower had plenty of hot water. We did not try the free breakfast, so I cannot comment on that, but it is offered in the lobby. Overall, this is not a bad choice for a lower-priced hotel. If you are just passing through Blackwell for one night, it is definitely a decent option.

The front desk clerk was very polite. He just wasn't trained properly. Our room was filthy. Hair on the bed spread. The floor wasn't vacuumed. There were 3 old key cards left on the TV stand. And someone's flip flops left under the table.

The bed were terribly unforgettable. Woke up sore and stiff.
