Beach Cove

This is truly a dump. Do not believe the pictures which was obviously posted by the owners when it first opened in 1985. Please do not book and spend your hard earned cash here. We spoke to an owner (who live here permanently but is thinking of leaving soon) and even though he is paying a lot of money on membership/HOA fees monthly he admits he does not know where they are spending all the money as the place really need a deep clean and full refurbishment. We checked in at the front desk for a weekend stay. While checking in the fire alarm went off. Many staff appeared on the front desk and we could hear them asking each other ' what do we do now'.. after the alarm stopped, all the staff just went back to what they were doing before. No one told any guests what to do or explain anything in a letter to the guest rooms afterwards. The souvenir shop is basically a wall with overpriced goodies. 3 of our ceiling tiles in the bathroom were open, bathtub drain was blocked, toilet seat was loose, mould on walls in bathroom, the bedroom does not have 4 solid walls which means all light and noise from bathroom and living area and front door enters bedroom (front door has a window which lets light in as well) air conditioner didn't work and we asked for a portable fan for the bedroom as it was very hot in the unit, hair dryer didn't work and was replaced..We asked twice to have another unit but were told it was impossible as all units were fully booked (even though not all guests have arrived yet we could not have any other unit to stay in according to girl on the front desk. The facility supply a bare minimum of refreshments like tea/coffee,sugar - we only received one packet of coffee for the kitchen, no sugar or creamer or tea. Also one small bottle of dishwashing liquid and no sponge for dishes (when we called to ask we were told that that is the only goods they supply)Kitchen has no dishwasher and only a 2 stove hop- no oven. In the bathroom there was only 1 hand towel, we had to ask for more and we had to buy beach towels as none is supplied. We only got 4 pillows- one for each person, very hard and discusting pillows. We called at 9:45pm the front desk and asked for more pillows,was told by front desk girl that she will send some pillows up to our room. When we called them again at 10:30pm to ask how long it will be before the pillows are being delivered (as we wanted to sleep) we were told the housekeeping went home at 10pm. I asked if someone can come to the desk to fetch some pillows or meet the receptionist somewhere to fetch the pillows, but were told the receptionist can not do anything now as the housekeeping has gone home. There is basically no guest service at this place. We booked and paid for our breakaway -which was non-refundable.. and the manager would not refund our money even though we have factual evidence that this is a total wreck of a 'resort' We were woken by 2 maintenance people drilling and hammering on the wall of the nextdoor unit early on the first morning. When we complaint the manager just send the maintenance person to our door- he knocked on our door very loudly and told us the manager has send him.. neither him or us knew why the manager had send him to us.. We will not stay here again! Not even if it was free..

I loved everything about this place will definitely return next year. The condo we stayed in was a steal! The room was spotless and was filled with everything that we needed from a microwave to a coffee machine. Even had pots and pans! I love this place.

Always enjoy staying at Beach Cove. One thing that changed is this year is the breakfast vouchers. these can be pre-purchased. Worth $20 each but if you spend less they keep the difference?????? Makes no sense to purchase in advance it is the same cost at the restaurant. No one could explain to me why or where the extra money went. Breakfast might cost $15.00 to use a vouchers they just keep the extra $5. Seemed almost like a scam. Hopefully this will change
