I just got off the phone with the general manager at this hotel James is his name and he has got to be one of the most hateful condescending rudest general managers I have ever encountered in all my years of working in a hotel!! And his front desk staff is not any better than he is so he must do the training for his employees. And this is supposed to be a choice hotel!? I was going on a cruise I stayed there on the 28th of December checked out on the 29th upon check-in I asked if they offered parking for anybody that was going on a cruise I was told no I said to you offer shuttle I was told again no, but after looking at their website it clearly says that they offer $10 a day parking well I had to pay over $200 for parking because of their uneducated front desk worker. I asked James about the situation just a few minutes ago and he said well I'm not giving you any money and I responded with I was not asking for any money I'm asking for some form of compensation and of course yet again he had no response, but at this point in the game I expected nothing less. My friend that went with me left an item in the room by my mistake a brand new bottle of face Wash very expensive and housekeeping supposedly threw it away, well I have worked in the hotel industry for quite some time and I know that by law they have 30 to 90 days depending on the item and seeing how the item was unopened brand new there was no reason to throw it away I called the same day after checkout to let them know that it was left behind and that's when I was informed well it's already been thrown away we don't keep things like that. So I let the general manager James know that a formal complaint has already been filed with choice privileges, and he didn't seem phased by that so I'm going to assume that he deals with things like this on a regular basis. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody that's looking for a place to stay in Galveston. Not only is the front desk staff and the general manager rude and condescending, the hotel is rundown it looks nothing like the pictures the rooms are nasty and the elevator doesn't work. So in a nutshell was staying there I have missing item damage luggage and out over $200 for parking. Being that I'm a choice privilege member I would have expected a little more from the general manager...
