I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with our experience at Belise Apartments. For the first two nights, everything seemed fine. The apartment wasn’t amazing, but we accepted that and were prepared to make do. However, from the third night onward, significant issues became apparent. There was a strong, overwhelming mould smell coming from the bathroom area, and both the shower and the sink flooded, causing water to pool across the floor. The odour was so strong that it was difficult to remain in the apartment, and the repeated flooding created an unsanitary environment. I had just undergone surgery prior to this stay, and the mould smell and ongoing bathroom flooding were particularly concerning for my recovery. Instead of being able to rest and heal, the conditions compromised my health and left both my husband and I feeling unwell during our stay. The issue occurred in the evening when no staff were available onsite. We notified management as soon as possible, yet instead of acknowledging the clear health and safety concern, we were blamed for not reporting it sooner — despite there being no one available to assist us at the time. To make matters worse, we were refused additional towels and toilet paper, even after we had to use our own towels to clean up the flooded shower and sink water. This is completely unacceptable, especially when paying $800 for 4 nights. I have stayed in backpacker accommodation that was cleaner and better maintained. Rather than taking accountability for the maintenance and hygiene issues, management refused to provide a refund and a reasonable solution was not able to be reached as it was after hours so what did they expect me to sleep in my car??? The lack of cleanliness, poor service, and refusal to take responsibility made this a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend staying here to ANYONE
