Belmont Classic

We wanted to spend one night there as a couple in December and left disappointed after a room change. We arrived late in the evening after a day in Cologne and were simply looking forward to a clean room and a comfortable bed. In the first room, we weren't given a key card for the light. We eventually received one, but the light would sometimes stay on, sometimes go off, and so on again... Furthermore, the room smelled strongly of smoke, even though we had to sign a waiver at check-in stating that smoking was not allowed in the rooms. The room itself also felt uninviting, dark, and cold. Consequently, we were moved to a different room, but this didn't improve things. In both rooms, as well as throughout the entire hotel, it was obvious that the hotel was currently undergoing renovations, but these seemed to be very haphazard. Instead of finishing the rooms completely, they were already occupied by guests. I also found the drugstore soap dispenser in the bathroom amusing; nothing seemed to be well thought out. The overall impression was one of a poor attempt at something rather than a successful one. It was simply very uncomfortable, so we decided to make the 1.5-hour drive home. The pictures and descriptions of the hotel online differ significantly from reality. The lady at reception was very nice; she couldn't be held responsible for the building's condition.

I'm speechless. Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't match the pictures at all. It's a huge construction site where everything has been botched. The hallways look awful; they've just slapped paint on the walls and that's it. We had mold in the bathroom, and in other places, the mold had simply been painted over. The only positive thing is that the hotel is very centrally located. Otherwise, it's a complete disaster.

Arrogant receptionist who laughs and says that if we don't pay the reservation, there is no accommodation! The reservation was deducted from my card on Dec 16, but yesterday my partner paid for the reservation again with the card! This is a concrete theft! Respected management, there will be consequences! If the double payment is not corrected! By the way, it is terribly noisy, you can't sleep. They make noise in the hallway and outside all night. The bed is uncomfortable, the paint is peeling in the bathroom, the switch in the room is broken. Never again here!!!
