Beautiful, quiet location with a lovely view over Albufeira's old town (if you have a sea view room), and a generous breakfast. Our room was quite small, but perfectly adequate for one night. The old town is just a few minutes away.

Uphill location from Albufeira Old Town. Short walk to several viewpoints of the coast and sea. Pleasant walk down to the Marina where there are a few more options beyond the main areas. This dated hotel doesn't deserve a four-star rating. Breakfast had few hot food options depending on luck or timing. Mostly continental style, but became boring after the first few days. Front of house and waiting staff were not particularly friendly or helpful. The room cleaners would greet us though. Our room was a good size, but we paid extra for a sea view. This was a particular highlight. Some fixtures and furniture need replacement, fixing, or updating. There was a smart TV that was quite up to date and good quality. The hotel should invest in a pool table or additional indoor facilities for when the weather is poor, or later in the winter evenings.
