I will start with a few drawbacks, followed by the positives. Cons: 1. I stayed in the Rainforest Chalet. While it’s beautifully surrounded by dense greenery, you should expect ants and other insects inside the room. Ants were everywhere — in the bathroom, on the bed, table, and floor. You need to be extremely careful with your clothes and bedsheets. 2. Traveling to the city center is quite expensive. On average, it costs around RM 80–120 one way, and return fares can be even higher. It’s also time-consuming. 3. Guests are not allowed to carry even small portions of breakfast items from the buffet — even for infants or in case of early flights. We saw staff stopping guests publicly, which felt uncomfortable. 4. The property is huge, and most rooms are located far from the front desk. The only way to reach your room is by buggy. Since many guests depend on it, waiting times can be long. Quickly going back to your room to pick up something can be inconvenient. 5. The kids’ room has strict time limits. Children below 10 years are allowed only 45 minutes to 1 hour. Even if you’re willing to pay extra, extensions are not permitted — regardless of the situation. 6. Breakfast options for vegetarians are limited. While there are vegetarian dishes available, many are typical lunch items like rajma, aloo matar, dal makhani, and dal tadka. 7. Overall, this property is not ideal for strict vegetarians. There is cross-cooking — for example, parathas are prepared on the same tawa used for meat parathas, with the same tools and gloves, which may be uncomfortable for vegetarian guests. Pros: 1. It's a huge property with stunning beach and amenities. 2. Cable car is just next to it and hotel provide shuttle service to that point. 3. Massage and spa was pretty impressive and relaxing. 4. For every day they offer some activities. 5. Everyday mini bar snacks are totally free. 6. Room decoration team is awesome. Great thanks to whole team.

Not 5-stars with regard to service, food or rooms. I was quite bummed out by the reality of this place after 3 nights. Location on the beach and the sounds of wildlife are lovely, however that unfortunately doesn’t make up for the stay. FOOD: Service was generally a miss, at Dayang it was reactionary and chaotic especially during breakfast. While there were plenty of food choices, it was mostly underwhelming. Dinner buffet was even worse, with low quality ingredients. While charming to have noodles and pasta made to order, they were tasteless. Signature cocktail was just awfully sweet and didn’t taste like it had alcohol. ROOM: While spacious, the floors creaked so loudly I woke up my family if I went to the bathroom or bathroom at night. Fridge was wonky. Three remotes and the tv one seemed to also power the ceiling fan. Although we hung our towels, housekeeping replaced them daily (or took them and forgot to replace them), despite their signage on caring for the environment and not washing towels unless requested. Complimentary mini bar refilled daily was a nice touch, though housekeeping also missed this one of the days. An actual key for the room didn’t always work and didn’t seem secure. Our shower wouldn’t drain after day 1. AC wasn’t cold enough to cool down the room and there was so much condensation we had to mop up. GYM: Hot and humid and nothing they can do about the temperature. Old and outdated equipment. TVs on the treadmill don’t work. I used this place once as the heat was unbearable. POOL: Towels are frayed and worn out with holes. My daughter noticed how dirty the pool floor was (I never put my goggles on after that). Water temperature is just right. I genuinely hope management makes upgrades to the food and service as they have a beautiful location. I am uninspired to travel to other Berjaya locations after this stay.
