It was the coldest I've ever slept in Nagoya. The central heating system is on, but it's not working properly. I can understand why Japanese people freeze to death at home in the winter. Usually, if you're staying in Sakae, you have to walk quite a bit to the left of Mirai Tower, but the accommodation is incredibly quiet, which is nice. Housing is only provided once every three nights, so keep that in mind if you're considering staying multiple nights. The biggest advantage of this accommodation is its spacious rooms and affordable prices.

The room was clean and much larger than other budget Japanese hotels. The location was very convenient for shoppers, and the price was reasonable, offering great value. Regarding the previous one-star review complaining about the heating, I'd like to add some credit. We stayed in early January, when the temperature was between 0-12 degrees Celsius. In winter, hotels do only provide heating. The front desk informed us upon check-in that we could turn off the heating if it was too hot, and we did. The temperature dropped quickly. Actually, in many cold-climate countries, providing only heating in winter is quite normal. As mentioned in my previous review, the hotel provided fans, which already addressed the issue. Furthermore, we didn't hear any other noise during our stay (even though the hotel was almost full).

Overall, it's not bad. The room was larger than expected, and the location was close to the station, but it was quiet because it was away from the entertainment district. It's also nice that all rooms are non-smoking. However, there are a few downsides: 1. The refrigerator is quite small. Of course, you might wonder if a hotel refrigerator needs to be this big, but... It's a bit difficult to even put a water bottle in. Additionally, no basic water is provided. Ice is provided. 2. In the case of twin rooms, the shower/toilet/sink are all separate. The sink is in the room, not the bathroom, which may be a matter of personal preference. 3. The elevator always stops at the lobby level (2nd floor). It was always on the lobby level, whether going up or down. This was a bit... incomprehensible. However, there are some positives: 1. The rooms are more spacious than at other Japanese hotels. Japanese hotels often have a place to hang clothes, often just for show at the entrance. This hotel offers a generous amount, making the most of the space. 2. Amenities are almost all provided. While amenities are being reduced these days, I think providing a few amenities (including a toothbrush and toothpaste) in the lobby is a definite strength. 3. The staff are very friendly. There are usually three staff members, and they were all very attentive and helpful. 4. The price is definitely lower than other hotels. With this level of facilities, I think the price more than makes up for the shortcomings mentioned above. Overall, it's not without its shortcomings, but I would still return to this hotel.
