This has been one of the most disappointing and frustrating experiences I have ever had. Hotel Betlem has basically been converted into a hostel for Indian students, but the way they treat students is completely unacceptable. We paid for two full months of accommodation, yet during our vacation we were not even allowed to keep our belongings in our own rooms. Without proper consent, they removed all our personal items and put everything into a storage room. The excuse they gave was “renovation,” but in reality the rooms were given to short-term customers to make more money. Imagine paying for your room and then being told you cannot even leave your things there. That is unfair and extremely disrespectful. The food quality also dropped badly. At the beginning it was good, but later we were constantly served watery chicken curry and low-quality meals. It felt like once they secured our payments, the standards no longer mattered. The worst part was when I returned from my holiday and realized that a lot of my personal belongings were missing — plugs, shoes, and other items. Things that I had paid for with my own money simply disappeared. When your belongings are taken from your room and placed in storage without proper supervision, and then items go missing, it is very hard not to feel like you have been stolen from. As students living abroad, we expect basic security, honesty, and respect. Instead, we were treated like temporary obstacles while they prioritized short-term hotel guests. I would not recommend this place to any student. Extremely disappointing, unprofessional, and untrustworthy management.
