We stayed here via a Tui holiday and had a brilliant stay. The staff were so helpful and the breakfast had a great variety of food, including cooking station for fresh omelette and eggs. We watched the sunset from the hotel rooftop bar and enjoyed a cocktail. The hotel is a short walk away from Ao Nang beach and lots of restaurants/shops nearby. We’d definitely come back here!

Bluesotel Smart Krabi I booked and paid AUD$300 per night in advance in March 2025 arriving on 5th Jan 2026 for a 10 night stay with breakfast. Booking a room with a balcony you would expect they’d be a view. Upon arrival in room 2526 we were horrified to find a wall (adjacent block) immediately outside the balcony. We complained immediately. They said we booked a balcony but not a view. They moved us immediately to 2425 which was a small improvement with half a the balcony covered by the same wall of adjacent block. There’s also a nasty smell of sewage. Nearby there’s a stream which looks like sewage is dispersed into it and when walking by towards the beach the smell gets worse. The breakfast area is so busy, it’s like a budget package holiday, quite unpleasant. On the Egg Station there’s only 2 people making eggs for the many people packed in to the breakfast area, consequently there’s a big queue. You have to wait or return for egg order. You would think to reduce the many people hanging around the egg station that numbering the tables and serving to the table once ordered would be the “smart” system to implement to reduce the chaos. All the tables are close together. There’s one coffee DIY machine. Thai omelette was nice and food is Ok but it’s so busy it’s chaos during this busy time of the year. Generally the breakfast staff are friendly and helpful with Sunmar and Chom being standout members of the team. It’s hard to see how this is a 4 star hotel and I’m surprised to see the average review rating as high as it is which was a big influence in us booking this hotel. It feels like a budget package holiday the likes of which I haven’t stayed at since I was 21. We are so disappointed it’s awful here and we are please to leave. I wish we had booked the Holiday Inn which would be our usual choice with IHG. We were swayed by the adult only and reviews but do yourselves a favour and avoid this hotel unless you want a 3 star experience at top dollar prices. To add perspective we are an active well travelled couple, traveling 4-5 times a year. The hotel is tired and dated. There are permanent stains in the shower fixtures. There’s no conditioner provided. Operating the shower water temperature is a guessing game with no Hot or cold indicator. There’s a whole in the tiles at the back of the shower taps. The bidet hose leaks at the back of the toilet connection and doesn’t work at all. The toilet seat stained from aged use and looks grubby. The big bed and pillows are comfortable but it is two singles pushed together with a mattress topper. Cleaning isn’t thorough with dirty towels left in the bath on an occasion, sometimes the bath floor mat was there sometimes not and used glasses not always washed properly or replaced. If you want towels for beach use you have to pay 100 baht per towel deposit even though they have credit card on record as a guest for deposit. Redeeming food and drink vouchers. In cafe we were told to redeem our food/drink vouchers (which we were given on arrival) at the reception upon departure however upon check out we were told we should have used as we ordered. They made a big fuss over this and insisted on calling the cafe to verify. AUDY at reception made this unnecessarily difficult and it felt awkward like we were trying to scam them. Would we come here again? Absolutely not it’s an over priced budget hotel which feels like one of those Club holidays. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere.
