It's going ok

The first impression was great. Excellent check-in staff. Good breakfast. Careful with the room: dispensers full, broken bin, I had to unlock the safe with a key, etc. With more attention, it would be excellent, especially considering the location.

Hotel excellent – Restaurant a complete flop The hotel itself, from reception to the rooms, is highly recommended. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional – definitely 5 stars. The rooms, ambiance, and overall impression of the hotel are also very good. Unfortunately, this is completely overshadowed by the utterly disappointing restaurant experience – especially the booked New Year's Eve menu, including the organization and service. For guests who work in the restaurant industry themselves, this dinner was a complete disaster. The service staff in the restaurant were clearly not adequately trained. The waiter seemed overwhelmed, didn't know what he was doing, and was already struggling to carry two plates at once. Hot dishes arrived cold at the table. The absolute low point was the main course: What should have been a high-quality steak was practically butchered by the chef. Serving a beef lung steak raw (and I mean truly raw) is simply unacceptable in a four-star hotel and demonstrates a lack of professional care. Even the plate of scallops appeared to have been tampered with: instead of the advertised three scallops, there were only two – the imprints of the third were clearly visible. The service was a complete failure: • No wine list • Beer only in bottles, sometimes without glasses • No proactive service – thirsty guests had to hunt for the waiter • The waiter was usually busy gossiping in the kitchen Unfortunately, this negative impression continued at breakfast: Coffee only from a machine (Nescafé quality – water instead of coffee), no service whatsoever, orange juice in a four-star hotel only available for an extra charge (€3), and a very limited selection. No variety of jams, no salmon, overall extremely uninspired. Conclusion: The reception, rooms, and ambiance are truly excellent. However, the restaurant – both in the evening and at breakfast – is a clear flop and in no way meets the standards of a four-star hotel. Should I want to spend New Year's Eve in Poreč again, this hotel would unfortunately not be the right choice due to its culinary offerings.
