Excellent accommodation for a weekend in Bonn! First and foremost, its quiet location between the former Federal Chancellery and the former Bundestag is a major plus. It's right on the Rhine, perfect for a leisurely stroll, and the river leads you directly to the city center on foot. The Museum Mile is also within easy walking distance. As it's a conference hotel, occupancy is usually low on weekends, allowing for a relaxed breakfast and less crowded fitness and spa facilities. Our accommodation was recently renovated, stylishly decorated, with an excellent bed, a beautifully appointed bathroom with a shower and bathtub, and underfloor heating. I particularly liked the "Bonn Republic" theme. The "House of History" is just a stone's throw away, offering a chance to learn more about the historical figures featured in the building. The only downside was the disastrous breakfast service. Only half of our egg dishes arrived. While individual requests were noted and taken very politely, they were systematically ignored. We decided against ordering anything on the second morning. Furthermore, I witnessed a remarkable encounter between a guest and a staff member. For no apparent reason, the staff member's tone and content were rude. The guest had simply offered a well-intentioned suggestion. Was she an ambassador for the "service desert that is Germany" or representing the "zero motivation to work" mentality of Germans in 2026? One appreciates a friendly suggestion. But of course, if guests neither express requests nor offer suggestions, then there's less to do... Reception service was very good, housekeeping service was excellent.

The fitness and spa area deserves special mention. It's essentially a large, proper gym with fantastic equipment that hotel guests can use. The rooftop bar is a must-visit.
