Bourou NOGUCHI Hakodate Ryokan

I stayed in a suite (SUITE), one night's stay including two meals. Advantages: - Spacious - Room with onsen (hot spring) access - Excellent Sky Lounge with a wide selection of snacks and drinks and great views - Excellent food, full of local flavors - Private dining rooms - Room view of Hakodate Airport runway - Barrel view of the sea - Close to the airport - Complimentary drinks in the minibar - Large sofa Disadvantages: - The elevator was a bit scary. - Some peeling paint on the room walls - Small TV Insufficient power outlets, including none by the bedside - Dim lighting Limited drink selection in the minibar - The suite's duplex design is unclear; the living area is on the second floor, only the entrance hall is on the first floor. - Some distance from major tourist attractions Others: - The room only had air conditioning and dehumidifier, no heating, but I didn't feel cold this time; I wonder if there's some hidden heating method. - Breakfast is Japanese style. - Booking a suite through the official website offers extra benefits. - Staff mostly speak basic English. - Inconsistent attitude among some staff members.

I went there in early February. It was a weekday during the off-season, so there were few guests and I was able to relax in complete peace and quiet. I took a bath five times, but ultimately didn't encounter anyone. I could see the runway at Hakodate Airport and watch the planes take off (the takeoff times were clearly written ☺️). After my bath, I enjoyed a drink and soft-serve ice cream while watching the night view. It was the best experience. The food, both dinner and breakfast, was so exquisite that it brought tears to my eyes. The head chef is amazing (tears at a loss for words). It was the kind of inn that made me want to come to Hakodate not just to visit Hakodate, but to stay at this inn! In fact, I'll definitely go again! Thank you very much.

I found a great deal! It's a maisonette-style room with a hot spring bath in the room. One night, two meals for two people costs about 60,000 yen. I'm so happy to be able to stay at the coveted Bourou-sama in a room with a hot spring for this price. I usually stay at other hotels for less than 10,000-20,000 yen per person, even with two meals included, but the coveted Bourou-sama is 30,000 yen more per person, but the satisfaction is worth it. Noguchi's Hannyarara no Kaze Hotel is also luxurious, so all the drinks in the fridge are free, but the drinks in the Bourou-sama fridge are also tasteful. The Ourin apple juice is so delicious, I bought 10 bottles from the shop. It's a bit disappointing that the hot spring on the top floor is the same as Takuboku-tei, but the lounge has free massage machines and a wide selection of snacks, appetizers, drinks, and soft drinks that change depending on the time of day. The fried vegetable chips at snack time are delicious! The soft drinks are also delicious. As for the food, it's delicious at long-established inns, but of all the famous hotels in Hakodate (I haven't conquered them all yet, but I've been to quite a few), this one is hands-down the best. First of all, the rice is delicious! At dinner, the dried monkfish liver wasn't very good, and the sashimi was better (it's good enough for a hotel), but everything else was fantastic. The chef must have had a great sense of style, as the food was perfectly seasoned. The Japanese food in particular was so delicious that it made me think, "Wow, I'm so glad to be born Japanese." I stayed from check-in until just before check-out, and was able to use the hot spring in my room four times. The amenities were also excellent. I think the shampoo was a collaboration with Mikimoto (Mie Pearl), and it smelled amazing. I bought one for myself at the gift shop. The bed was nice and comfortable. The staff were also very attentive, and more than anything else, it was amazing. This is a hotel that leaves you feeling very satisfied, healing your body and mind and filling your stomach. The large public bath is a bit disappointing, so I think it would be even more enjoyable if you could use the hot springs at the affiliated Umi no Kaze Hotel for free. I'd also like to stay at Boro Noboribetsu someday.
